A week from today is NBC’s advertising upfront meeting when NBC announces next Fall’s schedule, so Chuck fans (and Law & Order:LA fans and Outsourced fans, and reality denying Event fans) will know whether their shows are being renewed or cancelled no later than that day.

That being the case, do tonights ratings for “Chuck vs. the Last Details” matter for the renewal decision?

I don’t expect that they do.

One more episode’s worth of ratings adds effectively no information to NBC’s decision making process which I expect at this point is entirely dependent on the attractiveness of their new pilots, and the deal that Warner Brothers might cut for next season’s license fee for Chuck, both of which we can only guess about.

Both the Renew/Cancel Index and Bubble Watch have Chuck as “more likely cancelled than renewed”, but, as always, our mileage may vary.
