Quick looks at the fall schedules for next season (the other nights are here).

A lot of new shows on Wednesdays! Seven of them.  Five new comedies, one new drama and a new reality show on the CW.

ABC replaces comedy Better with You with new comedy Suburgatory.  ABC thinks its worth being patient with Happy Endings (it scored a 1.5 and 1.3 rating in adults 18-49 last Wednesday in its respective airings from 10-11p) and it will be interesting to see if that patience pays off once it has the Modern Family lead in. Regardless, I’m not too optimistic for Revenge after the premiere week dust settles. But then again I wouldn’t be  optimistic for any new show launching at 10pm on CBS or NBC either.

Fox has a brand new lineup of The X Factor and I hate My Teenage Daughter.

CBS has two-thirds of the same lineup it had this season, with CSI moving to Wednesdays and taking over the 10pm spot out of Criminal Minds.  My guess is CBS improve over this season’s  10pm shows (The Defenders, Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior).

NBC launches an all-new 8pm comedy block.  I said this on Tuesday about ABC’s 8pm comedy block and I’ll say it here again: I’m not optimistic for new comedy blocks launched with new shows kicking off the night.

I won’t be too surprised if  the ratings for CW’s new reality show H8R are among CW’s best.

Note: This was written well in advance by Robert, prior to the news that Christopher Meloni would be leaving Law & Order: SVU.
