Private Practice debuted as the #1 new show in viewership, and ABC had the most to crow about with all 3 of its new shows in the top 5. NBC can be pleased with Bionic Woman, and CBS with Cane, but the rest of their shows are wait and see. With real competition, Fox shows struggle, and CW are buried.

First New Show Casualty of the Season: Nashville (Fox)

The CW shows don’t compare to its competitors. CW Now, and Online Nation could never be expected to do better than a well scripted drama, or comedy, with 10 times the budget, and star power. Private Practice is lucky to have such successful ensemble characters, but I feel like there are too many of them, and won’t pull the numbers ABC wanted. I’m a fan of Gordon Ramsey’s dramatic reality, so I’m sure Kitchen Nightmares, like Hell’s Kitchen, will do fine this season. I don’t like K-Villle, because the lead characters have always been B actors, and they proove it on FOX, every week.

Eva, I haven’t checked out Kitchen Nightmare’s yet. I am a big fan of HK — even though I think it might be more scripted drama than reality. I love it anyway though and never get sick of him screaming “you’re a stupid @&#@ donkey!!” HK airs in the summer though against no real competition. Kitchen Nightmares will have a harder time…

I am not planning to watch K-Ville at all. I have about 50 hours of House to catch up on the past seasons and then the recent eps of Dirty, Sexy Money and Bionic Woman.. In between I’m catching up on The Office and Showtime’s Dexter which I really have enjoyed so far.
