CBS wins it all, but Fridays are down off of last year.

Overnight Scoreboard Friday Oct 5 CBS NBC ABC fox.gif cw.gif

Moonlight - Friday’s CBS

We still don't know if Fridays are suffering a massive surge in DVR usage over last year -- we won't have any idea for more than another week, but I don't think the downward spiral can't be entirely be attributed to DVR usage.

CBS had success with all three of its shows: Ghost Whisperer, Moonlight and Numb3rs.   While I'm surprised that 8 million plus people can still suffer through Howie Mandel on a Friday night with Deal or No Deal, I'm happy that Friday Night Lights seemed to hold almost all of the 18-49 year olds who were watching.

Meanwhile, the Friday night staple at the Gorman household, WWE Smackdown  continues to be one of the CW's best performers.

ABC  has a new lineup for next Friday

Time Net Show Viewers (million) 18-49 Rating/Share

9p CBS Moonlight 8.25 2.2/7
NBC Friday Night Lights 6.48 2.2/7
  ABC Private Practice 4.92 1.6/5

YAY…I hope Moonlight did good. That show is so addicting. I hope it continues to increase in numbers.

Carol – sorry for being slow with posting the actual data. Moonlight won its time slot. Next week ABC isn't running a re-run of Private Practice in the timeslot though and will put “The Women's Murder Club” up against Moonlight

Brian, I’d say the chances of Friday Night Lights staying on the air are good with those numbers. Although it had less viewers than Moonlight in the advertising-centric 18-49 category, it tied with Moonlight for first.

I miss watching new episodes of Monk and Phych on Friday nights! Those shows are way more entertaining.

I am so glad that Moonlight came out on top. I can’t wait until next Friday’s episode. I hope CBS gives it a chance to catch on.

I don't understand how moonlight is so successful. The show, by all accounts, shouldn't last 3 episodes.
I mean, could it have any more of a trite story line?
I”m a die hard vampire show/movie/book fan. And even I'm going “really? wow, a PI vampire who doesn't drink human blood because he's a 'good guy'.”
I mean, haven't we seen this in, i dunno, EVERY vampire show since… well, ever?
At least in Blood Ties he ENJOYS being a vampire, and open says he hunts people.
But it's on lifetime, so, lol, yeah, no one's gonna watch it there, that's for sure.
