Fox Business Network launches today. Currently available in about 30 million homes vs. approximately 90 million for CNBC, it faces an uphill battle in the television business news market. While CNBC has a stable of advertisers lined up, some worry that advertising dollars in that segment may not grow much.
However, the industry knows better than to count Fox out early. When Fox News Channel launched against CNN in October, 1996 it was available in only 17 million homes and we can see how that battle has turned out.
