Scoreboard for Weds Jan 9, 2008 NBC CBS ABC FOX CW
Total Viewers (million) 11.31 10.77 7.61 3.89 2.07
rating/Share: Adults 18-49 3.1/8 3.0/8 3.0/8 1.4/4 0.9/2

We're sure it will be brief, but the reign of the Peacock continues for now. NBC took the night in both total viewers and the 18-49 demographic, though NBC, CBS and ABC were all competitive in the demo. NBC scored with Deal or No Deal (which completely beatdown CBS' Power of 10), the broadcast network return of Law & Order: Criminal Intent (which had been airing on cable on USA) and a new episode of Law & Order. CBS scored well with Criminal Minds which easily won the 9pm timeslot. A new episode of CSI: NY won the 10pm battle over the new Law & Order, but was not as dominant as Criminal Minds.

Over on ABC, the jury is still out on Wife Swap, but Supernanny may have some legs - it continues to perform well in the 18-49 demo. Cashmere Mafia on the other hand, does not have any ratings legs. The 10pm timeslot didn't do anything to improve the show's fortunes and it placed last (out of 3) at 10pm by far. FOX ran with reruns of its sitcoms and The CW aired new episodes of Crowned and Gossip Girl, which had its best performance in weeks. Full night's results:

  • Rena Moretti

When your best performance in weeks is 2.3 million viewers, you know that there's nothing to crow about.

CW is in dire need of new thinking at the top.

Who wins in the WGA stike? We won't know til the end.

But it's pretty apparent now that CW is the loser no matter what. I thought Gossip Girl was all the rage and stuff.

Too bad the CW renewed Crowned, but has probably canceled Supernatural. Dawn Ostroff so needs to be fired. If she didn't have Les Moonves' protection she'd be gone.
