For what it’s worth, I tried to watch 30 Rock a couple of times based on recommendations by friends and I found it relatively boring and not all that funny. Alec Baldwyn made the show in the scenes he was in, but Tina Fey really didn’t.

I may have caught 2 bad episodes (season premiere and the Seinfeld ep) but I’m not surprised how poorly it’s doing.

Big Shots on the board – great to see! We need to make more people aware of the show especially since it is only short lived by my sources (last episode to aire 1-24).

Tony, it’s not just critics who enjoy 30 Rock. I’m not a critic, nor involved in TV, but my wife and I think it’s the funniest show on TV right now, even pre-strike (it should be noted that this is due to The Office’s weakness earlier this season).

It’s just a funny show, and very dense, joke-wise. It almost requires DVR veiwing so you can go back and catch jokes you missed due to hyperventilating laughter.

Of course, that’s just my opinion.

The networks desperately need to re-program Saturdays and program fewer reality shows if they’re interested at all in finding he next big hits.

It’s amazing to me how they take so few at bats (beside the fact they’re almost unerring in backing bad shows that are DOA with the public).

What is striking is how the mighty have fallen. CSI used to average over 30 million viewers a couple or three years back (when it was still a great show). Similarly, Without a Trace topped off above 20 million viewers until the addition of Roselyn Sanchez to the cast tanked the show.

Not bad for BIG SHOTS! and that’s WITHOUT PROMOTION FROM ABC. If the network promote it like crazy then more people will be aware and watch the show. The did advertise Grey’s and Ugly Betty BUT NOTHING for Big Shots!
