ABC had the most viewers, but NBC won the 18-49 demo and will surely puff its feathers out like the Peacock it is over it! It was a fairly competitive, though altogether anticlimactic night of post Super Bowl XLII fare.
ABC netted the most viewers with an hour and a half of Dance Wars followed by an hour and a half of 20/20. NBC ran with 1.5 hours of American Gladiators and 1.5 hours of Deal or No Deal. In the 10pm and 10:30 half hours, Deal or No Deal and 20/20 duked it out.
The New Adventures of Old Christine had its season premiere. It came 3rd in viewers for its timeslot, and fourth in the 18-49 demo, both significantly underperforming its lead-in, a repeat of Two and a Half Men. CBS also ran the series premiere of Welcome to the Captain which came in both 3rd in total viewers and the 18-49 demo for the 8:30pm half hour.
Over on FOX, was Prison Break and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Sarah is struggling in terms of overall viewers (it placed 4th) and tied for 3rd in the 18-49 demo but wasn't far behind the shows in front of it for demo viewers.
I'm left wondering whether Les Moonves and the gang at CBS wouldn't be better off running six reruns of Two and Half Men every Monday.
