Remember the movie ‘Network’ when people started screaming “… and I’m not going to take it anymore?” We need something like that to get people away from this ‘Dancing with Idols’ mentality. Every chance I get, I DON’T watch a reality show and I DO call it a bunch of crap. Let’s get the word out and hope that this is just one of those ‘pendulum swing’ type ‘fads’… you know like flappers and discos.

I’m watching The Grammys (kinda) as we speak and I can’t believe how ‘down hill’ this and everything else seems to be running these days. Maybe the settlement will start the pendulum back the other way.

I wonder how many writers are going to have jobs to go back to in the coming weeks, months and years.

whether I, you, Bill, Rena or anyone else likes it: the name of the game is to make money. That’s the ONLY game and so MARGIN is KING, and the margins on reality are quite often…better.

If the last 13,000 years or so of recorded history tell us anything it’s this: we won’t likely get our wish anytime soon.

Guess what we will be seeing more and more of as the next several years go by?… more of these crap reality shows and more animated movies – neither of which I watch – and both of which are much more cheaply made and tend to be at or near the top end of the ratings and box office indexes. Which direction do you think producers and networks will take our fair mediums?
