  1. As the great Billy Preston once wrote and sang, Nothing from nothing leaves nothing.

    But perhaps Sammy Davis, Jr. sang it better: Who can take a sunrise – sprinkle it with dew, cover it in chocolate and a miracle or two? The candyman can, the candyman can.

    The earnings release sort of reads that way unless you're numbers obsessive and…look at the numbers! :)

  2. I could see their growth slowing (they've been out for about 4 years now) but didn't expect them to lose viewers. But I know why.

    Cox Cable here in Las Vegas made me a deal where I got my DVR receiver for free and three free months of service, and then added only $10 p/m to my cable bill thereafter.

    Hard for TiVo to compete against that.

  8. Joe, if you're getting it from Time Warner, it's not a TiVo. ;)

    That's one thing to take away from the information above. Lots more people are getting DVRs, but almost none of them are TiVos.
