Scoreboard for Fri, March 7, 2008 CBS NBC FOX ABC CW
Total Viewers (million) 8.08 7.31 6.94 5.42 5.04
rating/Share: Adults 18-49 2.1/6 2.2/7 2.0/6 1.6/5 1.5/4

Drew Carey on The Price is RightCBS won the night narrowly over NBC (on a Household Rating basis), but NBC took the 18-49 demo with a 2.2 rating, CBS had a 2.1 in the demo and FOX had a 2.0.  Last week, none of the networks could even reach the 2.0 "Mendoza Line" in the 18-49 demo, so at least that is some progress.

The Primetime Price is Right more than doubled Amne$ia on a HH Ratings basis at 8pm (6.4 vs. 3.1).  The Drew vs. Dennis war is over: Drew won.  Dennis couldn't even best a rerun of Bones on FOX (4.3).

At 9pm, Dateline beat out a rerun of House (5.4 to 4.6) beating out Ghost Whisperer and 20/20 and Friday Night Smackdown!

In the 10pm Hour Dateline again beat up on 20/20 with a rerun of Numb3rs coming in 3rd, though Zap reports on a viewers basis, that the Numb3rs rerun beat out 20/20.

How long before Amne$ia is replaced with yet another hour of Dateline?  I'm never sure what to think of the Peacocks at NBC who were foolish enough to give Quarterlife a try -- but smart enough to not waste a moment deciding that it was a bad call.

I know something that would be way less foolish and much more watched than Amne$ia: the series premiere of an updated 2008 Knight Rider.  I'm not sure Val Kilmer is willing to sign-up for being The Voice of KIT on an ongoing basis, but he totally nailed it in the made for television movie (this link is a direct link to viewing the movie via the NB web site -- quality isn't great, but it's not awful either).  TechCrunch's Michael Arrington thought the movie was terrible (see comments), but like 13 million others, he could not avert his eyes.

All I can say is once Ghost Whisperer is back on at 8:00, Moonlight at 9:00 and Numbers at 10:00, CBS will win all three categories, demos and the entire night.

It depends on how you would compare Price to GW. If you compare it to new episodes of GW, GW does better typically – a little bit better in overall viewers and more than a little bit better in the 18-49 demo.

If you compare Price to repeats of GW, Price does better.

Update: after seeing the actual viewer numbers for Friday finally, TPIR did over 10.33 million and a 2.5 in the 18-49 demo. That’s not as good in the demo as GW usually does (2.8-2.9ish), but it seems like TPIR is gaining momentum on a weekly basis and closing the 18-49 gap w/GW. Sadly the primetime run of TPIR is almost over but with numbers like these, it may have found a primetime home.
