CBS: The Biggest Loser - Sarah Connor Will Be Back (I hope!)
Who could blame FOX for its youthful exuberance? It's crushing the field in ALL demographics, especially the key 18-34 and 18-49 demos. The 18-49 demo for the week ending March 9, 2008 was no different. FOX had the top 4 spots and placed ten shows in the 18-49 top 20.
Led by American Idol and Moment of Truth, FOX also snuck in two airings of New Amsterdam (anything following Idol seems a lock to make this list - one place where lead-in still has seemingly at least a little value) and TVbytheNumbers fan favorite Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles made the list as well.
Note that FOX treated the two hour finale of TSCC as two distinct episodes, so Nielsen did too. The episode you see in the table below is the 9pm installment. Also in the 18-49 top 25 (but not in the table) was the 8pm airing which did a 3.0 in the demo and had 3.91 million demo viewers. So the final hour picked up steam.
A repeat of the Family Guy beat out a new episode of The Simpsons. While The Simpsons are still strong, you'd have to concede that Family Guy is stronger (the repeat had more overall viewers as well, in addition to more viewers in the demo).
How to get old fast? Watch CBS my friends, watch CBS. The Eye could place but two shows here: Survivor: Micronesia and a repeat of Two and a Half Men. Buck up, Elliot Spitzer, Charlie Sheen too loved him some high-priced hookers and it seems to have wound up working out OK for him.
ABC placed five shows on the list, led by my current favorite, LOST (and that lead is pretty healthy), as with the overall viewing, Oprah's Big Give was bested by Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. ABC placed its 20/20: They Royal Family special and Here Comes the Newlyweds as well.
NBC placed three shows on the list, led by The Biggest Loser. I'd go wild with the puns except when it comes to the 18-49 demo, excluding the CW, it was CBS, not NBC who was the Biggest Loser for the week.
Not on the list or in the top 25: any airing of Big Brother 9, or Jericho.
