Fox Has No Competition, Univision #2 in Adults 18-34

By now it's getting a bit boring to recount how Fox continues to soundly win the weekly network TV ratings battles, but once again they won all TV ratings categories for the week of March 3-9, the 24th week of the broadcast season.

The Spanish language network Univision was #2 in Adults 18-34. They are unaffected by the writers strike, and much of their programming is serialized weekly telenovelas with very stable ratings particularly among the youth demos, so when the competition falters, they move into the lead. Their results seem uncorrelated to the factors that move the English language networks and so I think they might be a very interesting diversification investment for one of them. If it happens, you heard it here first.

ABC, NBC and CBS finished very close together for the week, particularly in Adults 25-54 and 18-49, both of which NBC won by a margin of about 10,000 average viewers. However, I'd expect that the NBC congratulatory press release to overlook the margin and instead focus on the glorious triumph.

mostly trumpeted was the #2 finish in the 18-49, and the peacocks are very proud of their consistent 2nd place finish in the demo to “Idol-fueled FOX” on Tuesday nights.
