Well tonight was close for ABC, CBS, and CBS. All three of their 9 PM shows were close. Supernanny had 6.87m viewers, Law & Order: CI had 6.78m viewers, and Big Brother had 6.73m viewers. I would understand the crack at Big Brother’s Tuesday ratings but not tonight. This is the best performing eviction episode. Normally Big Brother has 5.6m viewers or less for an eviction episode. Plus Big Brother has been airing against Idol for much of the season so their decision to have one Wednesday episode air at 9 PM against Idol shouldn’t shock anyone. They had to put Survivor somewhere this week.

Deonna, I love CBS — March Madness is ALLLL CBS. They make some very wacky programming decisions that are not to the benefit of its shareholders (in my opinion), but they make some good decisions too: CSI, bringing back the NFL (after stupidly giving up NFC coverage to FOX) Two and a Half Men, Criminal Minds, without a trace…and March Madness!

hi folks I am focused on Georgia vs Xavier. Berman reported the 3.5 hh rating in his early am report.my guess is zap’s data is more recent. That said shows with higher HH rating having fewer viewers happens all the time. Some shows have more people watching per household them others so there is no way to project viewers directly off of HH rating accurately

Zap2It has BB with a 4.3/7 HH, which matches up with the 6.73m viewers posted here. I don’t think the 3.5/5 is correct.

Criminal Minds & CSI:NY’s returns will most definitely boost CBS’ performance on these nights. Both shows have done extremely well against AI and L&O in the past, so it’s very well expected that CBS will be a ‘close’ second to FOX come the end of the season.

I wouldn’t necessarily count CBS out yet. Their veterans all return in April after the Madness ends (which is destined to boost their ratings) and FOX will only have AI & Moment of Truth, catapulting them back into 3rd place.

CBS has always had strength in numbers. They’ll continue to and retain the title as ‘America’s Most-Watched Network’ by the end of the season. Hopefully they’ll make less riskier choices at upfronts, though.

Fair point. ABC has thrown in the towel many nights of the week. Its performance is so awful finding the words to bash it is difficult. CBS makes some curious choices but ABC is so bad it leaves me speechless!
