I love it too. :( I'm not sure where LukeyDukey got the idea SciFI would reinvent the wheel. HOwever, the finale definitely left the plot open for pick up with just about anyone in the cast because it could be taken anywhere. I want more Jake and Hawkins, however, because they brought a major, new character in in the first episode this season whom we all took to like a duck to water, I'm pretty sure any incarnation they did would be great. The cbs boards exploded with new posters frantically asking "what can we do" last night. The ratings show there is a VERY loyal fanbase (as you would have thought it would have dropped considerably once the announcement came, and it didn't). Personally, while I thought the dogfight rocked, I don't need the budgeted show of a dogfight in every episode. I think these creators could make grass growing look interesting. I want to see General Beck of the Jericho Ranger Battalion in the 2nd American Civil War. I want to see the ops team Green and Hawkins track down the treasonous Mr. Smith, who no doubt has pieces to play (where is that bomb they captured in NY?) There is so much more that could happen.

People can whine "at least YOU got more episodes" but that doesn't change the fact that, Yes, WE changed at least a little how networks consider fan response, but we need just a wee bit more history making. I think we can get it is CBS is reasonable with whoever they are negotiating with.
