Fox Wins Again As Race Tightens Considerably
As has become routine this year, Fox won all viewership categories for the week of March 17-23, but only by what must be considered a "normal" amount. After nearly doubling its nearest competition in most of the weeks of 2008, Fox's margins over the second place networks were more like 20% (and even closer vs. ABC for avg. viewers). Ordinarily, numbers like that would be cause for rejoicing, but it looks to me like the first cracks in the facade of Fox's complete dominance in the second half of this season. As more and more shows begin their new episodes, that dominance will be tested and I would expect overcome on a weekly basis in various categories by mid-April. In another in a continuing series of coups by Univision over its English competition, Univision finished well ahead of NBC in fourth place for adults 18-34.
