Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles on FOX

TVbytheNumbers.com should have been doing this table all along, but we're hoping "she'll be back" and we'll get another crack at real-time ratings updates for Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles in the Fall.  Nielsen is no longer providing us with as much robust age demographic data as they used to (since they're not making us pay anything, we're not complaining!) but we have included the 18-49 demographic viewers wherever they were available, and fortunately TSCC made the weekly top 18-49 shows (limited to top 25) provided by Nielsen all but one week of its run.Lacking 18-34 and 25-54 age demographics, I've included the LIVE+7 viewer numbers along with the LIVE+SD viewing numbers.  LIVE+SD= live viewing plus same day (the show aired) DVR viewing.  LIVE+7 = live viewing with a weeks worth of DVR viewing.

Date Aired Episode HH Ratings / Share LIVE+SD Viewers (Million) LIVE+7 Viewers (000) 18-49 Viewers (Mllion)
01/13/2008 Pilot 11.1/16 18.36 19.17 10.05
01/14/2008 Gnothi Seauton 6.2/9 10.08 11.00 5.54
01/21/2008 The Turk 5.3/8 8.66 9.91 4.65
02/04/2008 Heavy Metal 5.5/8 8.82 10.02 4.55
02/11/2008 Queens Gambit 5.1/8 8.32 9.44 4.54
02/18/2008 Dungeons & Dragons 4.9/7 8.10 9.19 4.17
02/25/2008 The Demon Hand 4.4/7 7.12 8.31
03/03/2008 Vick's Chip 4.7/7 7.75 8.85 3.91
03/03/2008 What He Beheld 5.0/7 8.29 9.47 4.39

A couple of notes:  FOX aired the first episode following an NFL playoff game.  The game itself averaged over 40 million viewers (better than American Idol!) and the post-game coverage that led directly into the premiere of TSCC had over 32 million viewers.  FOX ran the next episode the next night (1/14) where Prison Break with  7.87 million viewers was its lead-in.

Does that mean it’ll be renewed?

Sadly, no. I’m writing a piece on why I think it should/will likely be renewed which I’ll post soon. But that’s just in the realm of opinion and speculation that we seem to thrive on here!

@dearme you said start “another better topic”, what would you view as a better topic? Giving feedback that this isn’t what you want to see is somewhat helpful. Knowing what it is you would be interested in seeing would be even more helpful. Thanks.

I would love to see you talking anything about sitcoms or 52 week network schedule or whether telenovelas would succeed on BIG networks (NBC making Without breasts there is no paradise), or anything else u want.

dearme: thank you for that feedback. We will definitely be writing about 52 week network schedule if it ever really comes to pass in a way that is substantially different than what’s happend over the last couple of years with fall schedule/summer schedule.

I can see either Bill or I doing a post ranking the top comedies overall (ratings-wise) based on the season-to-date averages.

I am not optimistic for Telenovella on the broadcast nets because miniseries in general don’t seem to fare as well these days, but I’ll see what kind of miniseries numbers for the past few years I can pull together and think on it. Thanks again.

I would like to cast my vote for even more T:TSCC coverage. Or whatever show or movie Summer Glau is currently starring in.
