The new schedule is out already, I thought we would not find out until the upfronts in May. Is every network going to do this?

  3. in its press release here:

NBC claims earliest release of schedule ever. I don’t get the sense this will push ABC, CBS, and FOX to follow-suit, but we’ll see.

  5. SNL Thursday Night Live? I clicked through to the press release and didn’t see anything about what that is. A clip show, or original programming?

  7. Sean, you need to scrolllllll (it was a ways) down.

SNL THURSDAY NIGHT LIVE – Dubbed “TV’s funniest and most influential political player” by Entertainment Weekly, “SNL” expands its “Weekend Update” coverage to Thursdays in primetime for three live half-hour shows beginning October 16. With all of the excitement and attention around “Saturday Night Live” during the presidential primaries, the anticipation for the show’s take on this Fall’s election will be at a fever pitch, “SNL Thursday Night Live” will keep the momentum — and the laughs — going. The program is a production of Broadway Video in association with SNL Studios. Lorne Michaels is the executive producer.

Ugh. That’s it? Nothing new. Nothing original. And certainly nothing exciting.

Are they seriously turning that Ford commercial into a series? Please, tell me the networks have not resorted to this. It was “ok” as a movie but I’m not going to watch the series. I’m all for product placement advertising but this is over the top. Give me back the Trans Am KITT!

Why isn’t MEDIUM on for the entire season!!!??? This season has been the best by far. NBC does this every few years…they get people hooked and then BAMM!!! They push a show to the side until we lose the show time slot and then forget it was on at all. This is just like Just Shoot Me.

  19. John, I woder if the answer to your question might in some way be tied to this table representing shows with the highest % of 18-49 users. There are many, many NBC shows in that list, but Medium is not one of them.

While I am fairly impressed with the stability of Medium’s ratings and its performance @10pm, as we learn about how the TV business works, we wonder if the metric used in that table i linked to above isn’t used by network execs in scheduling (and renewal) decisions, especially at NBC & FOX.
