Hi … I´´m not worry about DH ratings, because its 1st episode since that looong hiatus (damn WGA strike!) … I hope DH will pull more viewers (at least 17.5 m) next week.

Sam, I don’t really have an answer for that. I think if it does in the 5.8-6.5 million range LIVE+SD, it’ neutral to its current case. Below that, it may not be neutral and above that, it’s a bonus.

Eli has been pulling over a million DVR users, almost all of them in the 18-49 range, but it’s live+SD 18-49 rating has been dwindling (other than last night after DH).

it was 16 million. why is that so difficult to figure out? not 15. not whatever. 16! is it not clear? it’s listed right above… on this page… in the original story.

i’m not sure why there are people who don’t like a certain network like abc or a certain show as though they were all ex lovers… but there’s nothing bad happening. it was a little low in a post strike, first new episode in 3 months, post tornado storyline world. no need to rejoice the death of a top 5 show or a network based on one episode getting 16 million viewers instead of 18… especially when DH got 16 million last year and DH got less than 16 in last year’s equivalent episode for next week. plus the dvr numbers will easily put them ahead of last season’s episode.

My only worry is that once again, Eli is being lead-in by a rerun which just really worries me seeing how badly it does without a rerun. Hopefully enough of those new viewers carry over that it doesn’t matter. Also Jon, I’m samosfromhalo on TV.com. I’ve been posting on the boards there for a few weeks.

Also though, I’d like to know what Robert thinks would be good enough numbers for the finale. Any idea?

Rob – I am on a website (tv.com click my name and search Eli Stone and then click on Waiting for the Day or the discussion links)) where people are going coo-coo for Eli over the past 3 or 4 weeks. It is not what I would have expected me to like – believe me – it’s just really well-written, well-acted and the characters and actors are very likeable.

The premise shounds kind of smarmy, I know. But Victor Garber will get two nominations (he’s long overdue) and there will be two or three writing nominations. There are usually several great scenes per week and I’m assuming there will be a coupla noms out of those, and a coupla episodes have been as good as about any others I’ve seen this year. So 7, 8, 9 wouldn’t surprise me.

Sam – Eli is in tough this week, I think, but 6.5 mil would be all right against ER and WOT. I think ABC is not going to worry about this Thurs unless it’s really bad.

You make some good points for B&S and BL… but recently, Sunday night has been ‘go to sleep’ night. The recent Sunday Total Viewers numbers have been abysmal – for all shows.

I wasn’t happy with 9.2mv after 16mv for DHW, but compared to tot/views late on a Sunday the past several weeks, thought it was a pretty good amount. (also, I will be interested in the DVR+ numbers).

jon v… come on! death slot? post housewives? brothers and sister gets 11-12 million every week. boston leagal last season got a one time shot after housewives and hit almost 14 million. eli might come back since abc owns and it’s good but the show did pretty bad.

As for DHW-Eli… funny that a new ep of DH (without a natural disaster) didn’t match up to the new ep WITH a natural disaster at the end of the ‘season’, while Eli (WITH a natural disaster – earthquake) had it’s most viewers ever. So, therefore, Natural Disaster = increased viewers… right?

Also, Eli WILL be back. ABC isn’t wasting this golden opportunity (behind DHW) for nothing and, even though it didn’t hold as good a % of Desperate as I would have liked, 9.19 (not including DVR+) is a pretty good number for 10pm on a SUNDAY night (one of the death slots). The DVR+ on Eli might set a % increase record (if there is one) because that’s exactly when people are packing it in early to start out there Monday morning work week.

The simple fact is that people dont remember about these brand new episodes because the writer’s strike lasted so long. I think the numbers for DH are pretty good considering that fact.

There’s no doubt the long break (3+ months) hurt — and it will be interesting to see if it was the highest DVR viewed episode ever.

@Dearme. I can’t say where the all went, but in very round numbers, during the 9pm hour, of the TVs turned on, only about 1/3rd of them were watching the 5 networks listed above. The rest were spread among cable or other local channels. In other words of all the people watching TV at 9pm, roughly 2/3rds weren’t watching broadcast…
