FOX's time-tested lineup of and America's which was again the most watched programming on a Saturday with FOX winning both the most overall viewers and the most 18-49 year old viewers on a night where hardly anybody watched broadcast television at all.
There were hardly any 18-49 demographic viewers with the spread being from a 2.0/7/share for winner FOX to a 0.9/3 share for loser NBC. While FOX did win the night overall, the most watched program of the night was the 10pm on CBS with 5.92 million viewers. I don't know what was on cable last night, but it won't surprise me if there was something that did better than anything on broadcast.
It seems the networks have just completely thrown in the towel in terms of using Saturday nights to actually make some money. There's no way to make it interesting so I suggest you read about Britney coming back to , watch Kobe Bryant jump over a moving Aston Martin or figure out if The CW network's Dawn Ostroff's employment should be a lot more precarious than it probably is.
I'm not necessarily saying that she's done a worse job than Isiah Thomas did with the New York Knicks, but she's done at least as badly. Fortunately for Ms. Ostroff and unfortunately for Isiah there aren't hundreds of talk programs discussing the TV business as there are with sports. But the Knicks are a team with a rich history and the CW is just a young, very bad network that will likely soon be history.
If you're wondering why I'm writing about The CW on the only night it doesn't program any shows, that's easy. Not broadcasting on Saturday nights and giving the two hour block back to the local affiliates may be the only good business decision The CW has ever made.
