Loving Irony at FOX, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles

Lena Headey and Thomas Dekker on Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicle’s on FOXAlert reader Raijin noticed that in the Terminator lore, "Judgment Day" was April 21.  Technically it was April 21, 2011, but we doubt it can be pure coincidence that FOX passed its official judgment to renew Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles at least 13 episodes next season on April 21, 2008.

Reader FrankJ chimes in with the specifics of the lore as it relates to The Sarah Connor Chronicles:

Sarah Connor: How long have you been looking for us?
Cameron: Seventy three days.
Sarah Connor: And the war?
Cameron: The Skynet Missile Defense system goes online April 19th, 2011...declares war on mankind and triggers a nuclear apocalypse two days later.

Sure, it's possible that it's simply coincidence but I'd rather think FOX has an eye on continuity and irony.  Our hats are off to FOX on this and we're glad she'll be back.  Sarah or Cameron, Lena Headey or Summer Glau  (and Thomas Dekker and Brian Austin Green too!) - whichever way you go it doesn't matter. It's great news for fans of the show.

Robert, I think FOX may be an even bigger fan of the continuity and irony than we suspect.

Check it out, if you look back at Ausiello’s scoop about renewal, he got that on April 19th, the day Skynet supposedly went online!

By the way, thanks for the mention! :-)

    I didn’t think it was a coincidence either. :D

I read that comment yesterday and I was like…wait a minute, didn’t Cameron mention April 19th. I remember the date well because that’s my fave sportsfigure’s birthday. Didn’t know there was a delay of 2 days…but now I do. It could be just a very strange coincidence but somehow I don’t think so.
