DH has seemed to play out its adultery angle, always a popular subject with female soap opera audiences, since Peyton Place. I doubt they can hold onto Eva Longoria forever, though actresses as ” hot ” as she is have sometimes been held hostage to sitcom purgatory for a while. The next chink in ABC’s armor will appear when Grey’s Anatomy debuts against CSI. Then will come Private Practice. For some reason viewing momentum seems to be against these shows, but only the Friday AM numbers will tell.

Bill – I think what we were saying is that you ARE a Simpsons guy and NOT a FamGuy guy.

This is the 20th year for the Simpsons (if you include the little blurbs on Tracy Ullman).

I think that is what is called ‘a generation’.

This was the ‘Star Wars’ parody week… must see TV for all FG fans. Can you go back further, because I thought I remembered comparing the two for my TVBS a while back and thinking that the Sims were the better value?

Just to set the record straight, I’ve watched my share of The Simpsons. My god it’s been on for what seems like a generation, how could I have completely avoided it?

On the other hand, I’ve never seen Family Guy.

BTW, 95% of what Robert claims on the site about my TV viewing is fiction. The fun part may be figuring which 5% is true.

Jon, you're incorrect about the Simpsons, especially in the demo where repeats of Family Guy have routinely outperformed NEW espisodes of the Simpsons this year. I'm guessing there is some large crossover with people who watch Family Guy and DH. FG reruns have not performed so well the last two weeks, but prior to that a FG repeat almost beat Oprah's Big Give in the demo @9pm. See for yourself and if interested look at a few other Sundays and you'll see it was by no means a one-time event.

@Guess Who, they canceled Reba too which was their highest rated comedy if I remember correctly. They could have brought it back for one more season.

Guess Who, how anything happens these days at the CW is a matter of substantial wonder. My guess is they look back at Veronica Mars as being part of the "Good Old Days" and long for their return.

How do CW shows like Everyboy Hates Chris stay on the air with a little over 1 million viewers? Apparently everybody DOES hate Chris (ok, maybe not everybody, but 99% of them)

Big Brother was the only show for CBS to crack the 18-49 demographic, wow. At least the ratings are consistent week to week.

and last year’s comprable on 4/22/07 did 15.91m, though last night’s may bump up to that range in the final numbers. And DH will get a DVR bump it didn’t get last year…but we won’t see last night’s live+7 data for a couple of weeks.
