Wow! There are quite a few impassioned Jericho fans out there and I’m glad to say that I’m one of them. Why not fight for something so special? Why should we sit back and just “adjust to the fact” that Jericho is over? Jericho IS as popular as people make it out to be, just ask any of us.

GOOD JOB BDPLAID! GOTTA GET THE MESSAGE OUT THAT WE ARE NOT ALL CONTENT WITH THE GARBAGE THAT NETWORKS HAVE BE CRANKING OUT LATELY. HOPE NETWORKS TAKE NOTES AND REALIZE THAT MAYBE THE REALITY MONEY MAKER IS NO LONGER CUTTING IT AND NIELSEN RATINGS ARE OUTDATED. JERICHO IS QUALITY TV AT ITS FINEST BUT NIELSEN JUST DID NOT FULLY COUNT OUR FANBASE. GONE ARE THE DAYS OF FAMILIES SITTING IN FRONT OF THE TV AFTER DINNER, WATCHING THE BOOB TUBE. WE ARE TOO BUSY WITH LIFE AND SURVIVING TO DO IT . INSTEAD, WE CHOOSE THE MANY DIFFERENT WAYS TO WATCH OUR FAVORITE SHOWS AND SHOULD BE ACCREDITED FOR IT, NOT PENALIZED. Whatever. The fact is Jericho is just too expensive with too small of a fan base. I supported fighting for Season 2 and sent in $100 worth nuts to CBS, but this time its over. Jericho had 2 years to prove itself and the result was a 50% decline in viewers. Season 2 lost alot of Season 1 fans because of its heavy handed political commentary that sort of ruined it for me and many people I knlow – I kept watching Jericho the whole time but others stopped after Season 2 episode 1 or 2. Jericho simply is not as popular as people make it out to be. The sooner people adjust to that fact the better off they will be. There are remnants of the Save Invasion (pretty good show) movement still moving zombie-like thru halls of cyberspace – that unfortunately is Jericho fandoms future.

For the record, I dont like CSI, Law & Order or American Idol or much else except LOST and 24 and maybe The Office and Sarah Conner Chronicles.

Guesswho, the deal is, most of us who love Jericho don’t watch much else. So it’s a drop in the bucket, so what? That’s our eyes the advertisers are missing. In a round about way, the advertisers are missing a chunk of people because there are a whole lot more out there who don’t watch anything because they are tired of the claptrap being presented. It doesn’t mean one doesn’t have a life, it means there is a need for that type of quality entertainment that is also very thought provoking. If you don’t find it though provoking, then maybe it isn’t your cup of tea, so go watch CSI: Podunk or AI, but IMO there should be room for all types of pie, not just one. Are there some that go overboard, maybe, but there are also people that spend 1000$ on Wii games, or gambling or whatever their “thing” is. The industry is in need of a change, but it is in inertia mode (except the part that is in “chicken with head cut off freaking out mode” who desperately put up and take down stuff in a knee jerk reaction trying to capture AI numbers). We are just trying to kick it in the pants.

Well, it’s not so unreal when a group brings back a show from death. We made TV History in the process, and are poised to do it again.

At some point, people have to let the networks know what we want, but unfortunately the only way we can do it to to scream really LOUDLY. It’s like they’re deaf to what viewers actually want. If we didn’t, you’d have a steady diet of American Idol, The Bachelor, and Dancing with the Stars. Sound good to you? It does to the networks, because it’s relatively cheap to produce. But it sux by any societal measure. It’s not even entertainment – it’s cultural degradation.

We live in a new era of broadcasting – an era of narrowcasting. It started when cable TV came online. Look at it this way:

3 million viewers for a cable show is a blockbuster. 3 million viewers for a network show will get it cancelled.

However, when surfing the TV, the networks are simply one more choice – nothing special over HGTV or even the vile MTV – unless they have something on that’s special.

Yeah, I’m gonna tune in the networks for Reality Du Jour or something that show kids doing things that should get them arrested. Right.

Give me riveting, uplifting shows like Jericho any day.

Who cares if it had low ratings? Um, just a wild guess, maybe the SHAREHOLDERS of CBS stock, the employees and most importantly ADVERTISERS who paid for the show and got 1/4 fewer viewers than they paid for. Its amazing how so many fans of failed shows expect the network to keep THEIR show on the air. Do they think money grows on trees?

Its clear that the remaining Jericho fan base consists largely of people who lost all touch with reality. Its a shame. There is one guy on the CBS message board for Jericho proudly boasting how he spend over $1,000 sending nuts to places like Variety magazine and Nielsen. Unreal.

Thanks for the Jericho mention!!! But as a CSI:Miami watcher if CBS moves it to Jericho’s timeslot I refuse to watch. As a matter of fact since Jericho was cancelled I have pretty much stopped watching tv altogether and I now watch Jericho online, on dvd, or on itunes. It was really the only thing worth watching on tv to begin with. The rest of the things I used to watch were just background noise while I surf the net or do other things.

CSI Miami and that shark SUCKS! Last night I was using my computer with the tv on in the background, for the first 15 minutes while my back was turned to the tv and I was just listening to the tv sort of while I used my computer and I thought it was “CSI Miami” that was on when I hit the menu button and saw it was “SHARK” How can anybody tell the difference between the two shows? They all talk the same and there is nothing to look fwd to ever in those stupid shows….really, just bring “JERICHO” back. Who cares if it had low ratings, where’s your common sense CBS?

NBC…the execs running that network..like Borat would say…”in my country…thats like having chimpanzee’s flying jet planes”…can u imagine Wednesday night from 8 to 10 pm they programmed “Most Outragous Moments” and “Saturday Night Live Re-runs”…and they charge advertisers for this?..how they keep their jobs is beyond me…and the solid 1.3 and 1.6 demo numbers..i say give them all a raise..look these are people who eat veggie, workout daily, subscribe to new age philosophies…so of course they’re in touch with the average americans tastes..and needs…those tv execs have their fingers on the pulse..speaking of pulse…someone should check marc “verman” berman’s..the self proclaimed “programming bystander” looks like in 6 months he’ll be dead a year.

if according to jim comes back and boston legal doesn’t… there’s something seriously bizarre going on over at abc. the way the episode ended… with spader and shatner saying they aren’t done yet and there’s lots more to do followed by a funny plug for their move to wednesday night… i feel a little better that, it was david e kelley’s way of telling fans they will be back

I only see it sometimes in the commercials and it annoys me – have never watched the show.
