it's been a great simpsons season but after so many eps and years and the movie… even they are not immune to overkill. plus they always bounce up in the fall with 10-11 million. look at the numbers at the beginning of this season… simps always drop off after daylight savings time, plus the strike effect. things will prob. go back to normal in the fall.

Even though Family Guy was a repeat, American Dad was definitely a new episode (I watched them both). It's also obvious because American Dad held almost all of it's lead in.

One thing... I believe mentioning that DHW 'jumped the shark' with the Tornado Episode. So far there has been a steady decline since that ep. We shall see.

Ely, it appears that 18-49 demographics (where ‘Til Death and Back to You were tied) and managing margins (factoring in how much shows cost to produce) are the metrics that matter most to FOX. It makes sense to me.

Elyk988, It was widely rumored that the decisions on Back To You vs. ‘Til Death were cost driven. That is while they had comparable ratings, ‘Til Death was much cheaper because it had no “names” while Back To You’s 2 stars were relatively expensive.

dave, I’m not surprised that the Office does poorly in repeats. It’s a heavily DVR’d show so its fans probably don’t miss the originals very often.

I predicted the office wouldn’t do well on Sunday. (but who couldn’t)

how much longer can the simpsons last? I’m not saying cancel it now,(that’d be stupid), but it is kind of sad this show now plays second fiddle to family guy.

To comment on the recent cancellation of Back to You
It is very interesting that FOX would cancel a show that got better numbers in both the viewers and share. And yet they still keep ‘Til Death which has never gotten more than 7 million viewers? Also, the animation block is going to need a massive overhaul with the soon-to-be ending of The Simpsons and King of the Hill.
