I can't believe this great show has been cancelled! I am so SICK of reality TV. Frankly I'm pretty tired of most TV. It's no longer entertaining. There are so few shows on that are worth watching. I was really enjoying a show that was a fantasy. Moonlight was very well done, what a MISTAKE CBS!!!

I enjoyed Moonlight more than Numb3rs and way more than Ghostwhisperer. Part of what I preferred about Moonlight was that there was a continuing aspect to the show that would keep you coming back, but each show was fun by itself. Ghostwhisperer doesn't leave anything for the viewer to figure out. Numb3rs is much the same. What's more, the romance is so much hotter in Moonlight.

CBS made an unwise decision. Never have I been disappointed. Moonlight was a great show, and it had talented actors:Alex O Loughlin, Jason Dohring are great actors! I'm 30 years old and absolutely am saddened by CBS's decision. This new show that is replacing Moonlight is so boring. I don't care about someone else's love life. I mean I get hear about it at work or my friends can talk about their failed love life. I don't need a show to tell me this. Ex List is EXED from my list. No more CBS for me!!

CBS (C-an't B-e S-erious) has proven is does not care about it's viewers. Cancelling Moonlight with over 8 million viewers each week seems like a "bonehead" move. The replacement The Ex-List is an insult to any intelligent woman. That along with the new show Swingtown...a show set in the 70s (like we want to go back there?) that promotes swinging/cheating on spouses and partaking of illegal drugs. (and I saw all of this in a clip less than a minute long!) I think CBS is making one bad decision after another and I feel sorry for their advertisers. I think they will lose money all the way around! I know they won't get any of mine.

I do agree with Katarzyna even though I don't live overseas. I live right in the American Heartland. I have been overseas, and I like much of what I have seen there. One thing I don't like is what I have seen from CBS when they cancelled "Moonlight."

Like Katarzyna, I am really angry about CBS's cancelling of "Moonllight." I won't ignore everything from the USA; I can't do that. But like many other commenters, I may well ignore other CBS programs, certainly the lame "Moonlight" replacement.

"Moonlight" was new and different. It had everything-action, mystery, romance, humor, and arguably the best looking leading man on TV. It was a welcome relief from all the ridiculous reality shows. It had a loyal and devoted following which had in fact performed community action on behalf of the program.

And also the numbers weren't really that bad. They were close to 8 mil. They were the best for their time slot. It's true that Ghost Whisperer and Numbers had 9.5 mil, but they are established shows. It doesn't make sense to compare them to a new show interrupted by the strike. Actually, I don't think very many of the new shows did very well.

It seems to me that we should somehow try to get some organized effort to get our show back on the air. Is there some way we could ger CBS to try to get another network to pick it up? Maybe the CW. Or I was thinking of BBC America. After all, Alex O'Loughlin is Australian, and Sophia Miles is British. If that doesn't work, we could all boycott CBS as quite a few of us had planned to do any way.

Event though Europeans don't pay for the bills, they still pay for the tv-shows and we love American shows, but they keep cancelling the best shows... and then we are stuck with re-runs of 90210 and the cosby show....

Olá,
These last 6/7 days have been an absolute hell and I'm not being dramatic!!!
It's umbeliavable how a show like Moonlight (love, passion, chemistry, bonding, friendship, plots, action and amazinfg performances.... just to line some of the best things ths shows had) could be cancelled!!!
A total disregard and an infamous lack of respect towards at least 8 million viewers and I'm not including myself along with many millions abroad USA....
I'm Portuguese and this show has given me more that words or actions could ever express!!!!

Last night Portuguese Cable TV showed Alex O'Loughlin film "Feed" - I believe he also produced it... I contacted the cable responsables for the broadcast asking the reason because that film was chosen. Do you want to know their answer? The last 2 weeks they've been overflown with people looking for Alex's films... Why? Surely because of it's amazing work in Moonlight!!! The show although hasn't been fully shown in Portugal, due to the writters strike some shows were postponed, but everyone who started to see it somehow got the chance, as I did, to watch the full (!!!!)season on-line and now we are part of the Moonlight fans that are fighting to get a 2nd season. Getting it or not, right now I'm not optmistic about it, I will always cherish the show, its characters beatifully portrayed by amazing actors. I'll keep my eyes on them forever!!!

I am devastated by the choice of CBS to cancel such a great show! Am I wrong in saying that Moonlight beat out all of the competition in the People's Chioce Awards to win top honors for best new drama? Gee I wonder why the show won that award.... uhhhh maybe because it was a great show.... and then the execs go and cancel it. Wow People! Do you even know what good TV is? WAKE UP EXECS AT CBS. You are doing yourselves a great disservice by cancelling the Best New Show on TV chosen by the PEOPLE!!!!

I hate cbs (their letters don't even deserve to be capitalized) they should cancel Ghost Whisperer and Numbers and keep MOONLIGHT it's a much better show then the other 2. If MOONLIGHT doesn't come back to cbs then I will never watch their network again!!! And I know I'm not the only one who feels this way. cbs you're such a disappointment.

You should blame CBS, they led both the viewers and cast on about being renewed. They still have season finale on their website. They are now censoring viewers on their moonlight forum, deleting posts, deleting users trying to support a pick up of the series, they even blocked several users IP address so they can't post to the forum.
Moonlight won on what is termed as Death Fridays, the time slot and demographics every week. It was reported in several media outlets it Helped CBS win Friday Nights. So you should be holding it agains CBS. I know the fanbase is definately going to do so. I may not be 24, but I have a full time well paying job, I buy for the household, and I have more interest in watching TV than my 15 yr old. I am one of the millions of fans not counted by the current rating system. Moonlight viewers believe its time we were all counted. T. Graham Ohio

I may not be 24, but I have a full time well paying job, I buy for the household, and I have more interest in watching TV than my 15 yr old. I am one of the millions of fans not counted by the current rating system. Moonlight viewers believe its time we were all counted. T. Graham Ohio

You should blame CBS, they led both the viewers and cast on about being renewed. They still have season finale on their website. They are now censoring viewers on their moonlight forum, deleting posts, deleting users trying to support a pick up of the series, they even blocked several users IP address so they can’t post to the forum.

Moonlight is a great, awesome show! My family and I really look forward to seeing it every week. We feel it's being cancelled due to the writers strike which interupted the series CBS should give it another chance to secure a solid foot hold before getting another boring show to replace it, it's one of a kind and and a show that will be extremely missed. It has so much to give, fantastic acting, and every genre possible is packed into "Moonlight". Please give it another chance!!

I know it's silly, but I used to tune into some other CBS shows just to get a look at the Moonlight promo that week. I won't be doing that anymore.

Good information to have. Thanks cjej. I'll be looking for it. By the way, I agree with your assesment of 'Moonlight'. I enjoy popular culture material, it is the measure of our times and reflects in a wide range of ways the attitudes, fears, aniexties, desires and environment we live in.

Alexis, I have a great deal of respect for your opinion as an insider of the industry. Since I'm looking at things from the outside our perspectives are different - yet we have come to the same conclusion. Interesting, isn't it? If the world of TV could integrate our two visions of evaluation - one that would include both sides of the coin - I suspect you're concerns and mine might be better addressed. I agree that the current methods are at the very least broken and may need to be completely torn out for an alternative approach.

I have a tendency to go along with the EXECS at CBS on this, but it is with a great deal of regret. There are as many great good reasons as bad for keeping the program alive for one more season. I stated in an earlier comment on 'Moonlight', that if this show could beat - the commercially driven market - it would eventually win its time slot. Ironically, I believe CBS will have a difficult time finding a Friday night replacement that did as well as Moonlight. The acting was good, the characters attractive and interesting, and the scripts were unusual - covering a wide range of scripted and potential story lines. This should have made the job of the writers fresh and the actors happy - key elements to a successful program. Alas, the powers that be disagreed. I'm not particularly disappointed in their actions, just the system that allows it thrive.

Nielsen ratings do not depict the actual number of viewers because there are only a certain type of people that are reached by the way Nielsen records it's ratings. I have worked in the television business for about 4 years now and I believe that Nielsen needs to come up with a more realistic way to gauge what Americans are really watching.

Case in point: MOONLIGHT
This show has more than 8 Million fans. Period. There are so many other examples... but right now this show ,it's cast, crew and millions of upset fans are close to my heart. Advertisers and networks (specifically CBS!) must to find another way to determine the popularity and marketability of shows before network television is beyond saving.

Thank you,
Alexis

It is becoming increasingly difficult to find something on TV to watch. We're not into reality drivel or Women's Murder Club mediocre scripts and acting. MOONLIGHTING was a slick, well-written and acted treat each Friday night. It is disappointing that CBS would not give the show an unstrike-chance with its current and new fan base received from effective promotion..
