The ratings all in all were not that bad for moonlight, certainly will be better than 50% of the new shows launched next year. I'm just sick of networks not giving shows a second season when all they are going to do is launch and cancel more new shows. When you have a show like moonlight that kept it's ratings fairly close to ghost whisperer and has a very dedicated audience I think the networks need to consider what they can do to make it fit in the schedule rather than just dump it for the next pile of crap that will be canceled after 3 episodes. For me it's not just moonlight although I loved it, it is happening way to often lately with a lot of new shows.

Sandy, you ask why someone would think a network is struggling because it cancels a low rated series? It only goes to show the upsidedown logic of hard core fans of niche shows. They throw logic out the window – its 100% emotion, 0% logic.

No, Moonlight is an example of why the networks are struggling. I’m not saying it’s a bad or good show, but clearly people didn’t bothe to watch it. Unfortunately shows like DWTS or AI are the ones which save the networks these days

Well, my Saturday nights are spent watching BBC America or any other network that will provide smart, well written shows. I REALLY morn the loss of Moonlight, its cancellation is just one more example of why networks are struggling. I don’t watch reality TV or game shows and most comedies are dumb and dumber, not smart. As I said on another board…what’s next CSI:Tampa? Dancing with Animals? How I met your Uncle?

Or maybe lease out Saturday Night like the CW is going to do with Sundays. ABC and CBS have some sports to run Saturday Nights, but AFAIK NBC doesn’t.
