My husband and I were devoted fans of Moonlight! It was the best reason to stay home on Friday nights. CBS has really disappointed us. What were you thinking??

So, The Ex List premiered and it….BOMBED! It got an average of about 6.5 million viewers, about two million less than Moonlight’s premiere last year. I guess ticking off the Moonlight fans and putting on a wasteless piece of crap show like The Ex List didn’t do CBS any favors.

What they should do, is swallow their pride, air the rest of The Ex List episodes that have been filmed, and then bring back Moonlight mid-season. Alex O’Loughlin is under contract with them.

Or if that’s too much for them. Then at least bring back a tv movie for Moonlight (or 2), so the story line can play out as it should.

Besides, Moonlight did pretty well last year considering CBS gave it no advertising. The fans did that for them. Plus, this year we’re seeing the rise in popularity of vampires. With True Blood and the Twilight movie coming out, they could have easily advertised to those fans. I bet there are a lot of people who are huge fans of Twilight but have never even heard of Moonlight. Moonlight could have really been a big hit for them this year. All it needed was a little more advertising. And what they should have done is focused on the forbidden love story (like Twilight) rather than try to advertise it as a procedural. Because Moonlight is about the characters, not the crime of the week Mick has to solve. It’s not CSI: Vampire. It’s Moonlight.

CBS failed Moonlight and its fans by 1) not advertising it enough 2) not advertising it properly and 3) canceling it before its time

CBS never wanted Moonlight to succeed.

Well anyway, CBS failed and apparently so has The Ex List.

I cannot figure out why CBS cancelled Moonlight. It was one of the best shows on TV. I will not watch the Ex-List, not because CBS put it on instead of Moonlight but because it is one of the most stupid shows on. I have not found anyone who disliked Moonlight. Where are you getting your info on who watches what? I guess from someone who doesn’t have a clue as to what the rest of the world is watching.

i am so happy moonlight fans are remaining adamant. i am angrier about it’s cancellation with each passing day. moonlight was a great show with a solid fan base of 8 million LOYAL viewers, quite a feat on a friday night. it won the people’s choice award, and we were lead to believe it WOULD be renewed and we were lied to. to replace a fantastic show like moonlight with twaddle like the ex list is a slap in the face and a complete insult. it’s kind of like replacing steak with bologna and telling you it’s just as good. NO, it isn’t. i will forever boycott the time slot that belongs to moonlight. cbs and nina tassler need to grow a brain.

CBS SCHMEE BEE ESSS. Who cares?? Not me anymore. They finally found the right formula for a show that people can really sink their teeth into (no punn intended)gorgeous characters (both m/f), romance, action, suspense and fantasy and they just kicked it to the curb like some rabid dog. Well pooh pooh on you CBS, this is one household of MANY MANY MANY that you will NEVER be invited into again.

Moonlight won a “People’s Choice” Award. Could it not be more clearer to CBS that the PEOPLE liked Moonlight? Who is making the decisions at CBS? Something works and the people like it so you cancel it? Yeah, makes sense to me! Must have been a man making that dumb decision.

It was a BIG mistake canceling Moonlight. There is NOTHING like it on t.v which made it ORIGINAL and DIFFERENT and FUN to watch. Are the CBS hotshots living under a rock or what…Haven't they noticed how HOTTT vampires are right now???? This new show of theirs looks LAME. I definitely WON'T be watching.

You don't have to be an expert TV executive to understand that there's no way you can win Moonlight's audience back, with more than 90% of female viewers, airing a Tv show that does not give us the sexiest , hottest actor nowadays. Alex O'Loughlin was the main rating factor , if numbers weren't high enough or not, I don't know, but I do know that tons of women watched the show because of this gorgeous man.

I am a “Moonlighting” fan!! I hope I can stay awake watching “The EX-List” because I am a “Numb3rs” fan also. I liked the Friday night line-up with Ghost Whisperer, Moonlight, and Numb3rs. My favorite TV night.

Nina is crazy to replace Moonlight for the Ex List. I don’t know how more insulting she could be to the 8 million viewers of Moonlight. Now even more since it has made it overseas to other countries. They are wondering why Moonlight has been cancelled. We over here wonder the same thing, Best New Drama-People Choice, again Nina does not care about viewers. Then to say us Moonlighters watched only to see ALex, WHO CARES WHY!! We were watching for many reasons but we were watching. I don’t understand her logic. I think a lot of us are feeling the same, here in the US and everywhere else in the world. So there is no way EX List will get better ratings than Moonlight. There will never be another show like Moonlight, however it could be with Moonlight season 2!

I will definitely not be watching a whining woman show. Who the heck (male or female) would find that interesting. I find it insulting to most of the female population!!!! Moonlight was an awesome show that actually kept me home on Fridays. Even if I decide to be home on Fridays now, I guess I will be scrubbing the floor – it will be much more appealing than this ex-list. CBS should just eat their words and bring Moonlight back!!!!!!

Its very premise is an insulting, sexist portrayal of the modern woman. Perhaps someone living in the fifties or sixties would have appreciated it, but not now. This kind of show is a prime example of why TV is becoming more, and more of a distant memory for many viewers. How dare a network try to tell me that I can’t make the right choices, or know what I want. How could they even think that this would be a character I could identify with? Well guess what CBS, I do know what I want and it’s not this kind of show.

CBS might as well admit it now. Anything they put to replace Moonlight is going to Crash. They took an excellent Story that millions loved, and replaced it with junk only a handful of people will sit through. The smartest thing for CBS to do to save it’s Numbers is to reinstate Moonlight. The show was only going to grow better in it’s second season, and draw even more viewers than in it’s first.
It’s like they dug up a rose-bush right before it was going to bloom.

I am a mother with a daughter. Since she was little, I have always stressed to her that no woman needs a man to survive. The relationship should be 50-50. And there is happiness without having a man in your world. Just to be clear, I am a happily married woman with 26 years under my belt. That being said, I don’t see how this show will do better than Moonlight. CBS made a huge mistake in cancelling Moonlight. Hello, women want romance which is what they got from Moonlight. Not some woman crying over her unhappy life. We can watch the news if we needed something depressing to watch. I am one of the many fans of Moonlight that are so disappointed in CBS for cancelling our beloved show, but even if I wasn’t a Moonlight fan, I know I would not watch the Ex-List. It goes against everything I believe and have taugtht me daughter.

I’m also a woman in the desired demographic. Besides the fact that I am a Moonlight fan and very displeased with CBS, I would not watch The Ex List.
The premise is way beyond its freshness date (say about 40 years) and I find the lead actress less than charismatic. I watched “Saved” with Elizabeth Reaser and Tom Everett Scott
a few years ago. The story was great and Everett Scott was fantastic, but, Reaser was fairly bland in it. I have seen her in other things where she had a supporting role.
She was quite good in those, but, to have her carry a show as the lead…I just don’t see it working. The supporting cast will have to be phenomenal, but the subject matter is stll
a big failure here. If the Nielsens report that this show even comes close to the numbers Moonlight was pulling, I’ll think that Tassler and Moonves are PAYING people to watch it.
‘Cause that is the ONLY way I see The Ex List lasting more than a few episodes. It may win the 2008 award for fastest cancellation (a la Viva Laughlin!).

IMO, They removed an excellent story like Moonlight, that carried drama, suspense, a healthy romance, and a strong leading female character… to make room for this Ex-List that makes my lip curl in disgust. I’ve seen previews and they just turn me off completely! Why would I want to see the whiney and insecure female in this new show – when I’d could have watched “Beth” who’s combination of strength and tenderness – coupled with her independence – made her such a wonderful character to watch and for young females to emulate?
IMO, They trashed a Winner – to make room for a Big Loser! They should just return Moonlight with it’s entire cast and keep it’s storyline intact! Reinstate their 6-year contract, and then stay out of their way so they can do what they’ve done so well and “grow” their Story into the classic it could be! THAT’S what drew the viewers to CBS-Fridays!

I think Moonlight did a lot better in that demographic than they know. How do they get those numbers? Their nuts to replace Moonlight with this garbage, I sure won’t be watching. I might tune into the mentalist just for the man candy that is Simon Baker but I won’t get too attached because if it is any good -they’ll cancel that too! CBS SUCKS!

I’m 32 as well, and CBS has been blocked from my television since they had the massive collective brain fart and canceled Moonlight. I don’t get where they think that someone in our demographic is going to sit home on friday nights watching garbage instead of Moonlight. Moonlight was classy, adventurous, romantic, and all the other good stuff you want in a show. Hot actors, good looking women too. Incredible writing, great producing. . .I guess none of that matters to CBS since they’re so focused on portraying women as needy whiney little nothings unless they have a man. I personally don’t believe in that stereotype so I have no reason whatsoever to watch the Ex-List. Not that I would anyway, just on principle.

To be honest a woman looking for a man to feel complete is so 1910…If the woman who in the past fought so fast for woman rights could watch the show they would die again in a second..So not , i don’t think this new show will do better that moonlight. I just don’t get CBS really..But to be honest I don’t care if the new show does good or bad, because CBS is blocked in my TVs, so whatever.And yes I am a 32 year old, in case CBS is checking.

While it is true that Moonlight was criticized severely-amazingly by some people who admiited later that they never bothered to watch very many of the episodes, there have been several well known people who write about television and their opinions concerning various tv subjects who did state at the time that they though CBS goofed in cancelling the show.
I won’t list a bunch of people but I will quote TV Guide(or former TV Guide)tv guru, Matt Roush(who, by the way, was never a big fan of Moonlight himself, although he was very fair to the show)from a May ariticle, “There was lots of untapped potential on this show. CBS blew it with this one…”

You have cancelled Moonlight, Jerico, Shark, I could keep the list going…..To be replaced shows such as; Swingtown and Ex’s-List. What was it, you couldn’t resis thumbing your noses at the viewers? Oh, yes, LET’S INSULT every woman in the US, Oh let’s not stop there! Let’s go for International viewers as well. Ex-list looks like exactly the kind of show a network dumb enough to cancel Moonlight would promote. Instead of a romantic thriller with a smart, sexy female lead who had incredible chemistry with a really talented male lead actor, we get a sad, whiny female lead who is nothing without a man (and a man who apparently wasn’t good enough for her the first time around!!) And to think that a woman exec at CBS thought this was a good idea???!!!

What a poor executive decision between this show and swingtown CBS has turned out to be the network not to watch. We don’t need our TV shows to be dumbed down,
we are intelligent women who find these shows offensive to say the least. I give them a month at most
Someone(s) dropped the ball on cancelling Moonlight. I was even getting back into watching the Ghost Whisperer because of Moonlight,but not anymore. I made a promise to myself NOT to invest myself in any freshman show until it gets picked up for a second season. Then I can find the first season somewhere to watch it.
There are new novels coming out in the Vampire genre and I will be reading while the morons out there tune in to watch and vegetate over these new shows.

r u kidding? Whoever is calling the shots is really stupid because they also have another show “swingers” & that is failing big time. Moonlight would have grown and grown for CBS because it left us viewers realizing the next season would be even better. Hopefully another company will pick them up because the actors really are good as well as the premise is unique and different from most of the ” vampire” movies etc.
