Monday night's part one of the two part miniseries averaged 4.8 million viewers between 9p-11p. It performed admirably in the 18-49 and 25-54 age demographics as well hauling in 2.5 million 18-49 year olds and 2.7 million 25-54 year olds.
The updated version of The Andromeda Strain was the second most watched A&E program in its history trailing only 2005's original TV movie Flight 93. It was also the top cable miniseries or movie year-to-date with the 18-49 and 25-54 demographics.
I caught parts of one and thought it was OK, but I was flipping in between the NBA and NHL games and it had way, way too many commercials to stick with! I'll watch the whole miniseries in its entirety via DVR and without all the commercials sometime soon. If nothing else it is cool to see LOST's Daniel Dae Kim in a different role.
