Word on the street is that phones are ringing frantically and that CW chief Dawn Ostroff may be on the outs and get replaced by MTV's Tony DiSanto. That would bring a whole new dimension of added drama to Gossip Girl vs. The Hills next season. We'll see how this rumor plays out.
OK, I know it's probably sacrilege to mention Gossip Girl in the same breath as LOST. And spoilers follow, so turn back now if you haven't seen the episode yet. I really liked last night's season finale - I thought it was really good. But I was not as amazed by it as some people. It wasn't even my favorite episode of the season. It tied up some loose ends that were rather predictable but there were also a couple of surprises. One, a very sweet and lovely surprise - Desmond and Penny finally reunited. And then the ending! They hid who was in the coffin for so long that I half expected that the person Jack would see in the coffin was...himself! But I was John Locke.
I wasn't moved much that Ben could move the island by basically turning an old wheel gear of some kind. They could have shrouded how it was done in mystery more and it would've sat better with me. Anything would've been better, including entering 4-8-15-16-23-42 into a computer terminal! I really enjoyed it anyway, and given that I've now seen all four seasons in less than a year, it's going to be a long wait for me until January.
