The fight was good and overdue in some ways. However, I'm reading more into Natalie-Six's death scene than this fight.

Marc, though I liked SG1 more probably, I've kept up with SGA and it continues to grow on me. I really enjoy several of the characters and the relationships they have with each other: particularly the Sheppard/McKay characters and their relationship. The cliffhanger episode to end last season was particularly good and I'm looking forward to the premiere too. I think you're right that SG1/SGA get no critical love because it's often campy to BSG's dark and foreboding. SG1 and SGA both have had some horrendous episodes too, but is the far more entertaining franchise for me than BSG.

BSG has too many miss eps. Only a handful of eps this season has been very good, imo. I feel people underrate Stargate Atlantis just because it is not dark or dramatic enough. If you watched last season of SGA there were plenty of dark and dramatic moments to make a good show. I am so excited about next season of SGA which premieres on July 11th, that BSG is just entertaining me until the bigger and better starts.

I'm surprised people haven't been liking BSG lately. It started slow for me, but then really picked up the last four or so episodes. I've been loving it and have been genuinely surprised by some of the plot points-- something that rarely happens to me while watching tv. But then again, I also loved Season 3 (the episode where the humans were liberated from New Caprica will go down as one of my favorite episodes of any television show) and didn't mind the Love Quadrangle of Doom, so maybe I'm in the minority. Glad to see the ratings are decent though because I still think BSG on a bad day is better than 95% of television at its best.

Ah, thanks Bill. I decided to stop being lazy and look for myself to confirm that. It looks like Razor counts as 2 episodes and there will be 20 episodes for Season 4 totaling 22.

Yesterday's episode was also my least favorite of the season. It had its ups but mostly downs. Ever since Lee left his Viper and became political every story around him has been fairly weak (starting with Black Markey in S2). The show used to be about the individual struggles of the characters to survive and live in their new world. Now it's become more about change and the character's defining features that we used to love have taken a backseat to their own revelations about their life (Adama and Roslin is not my favorite storyline, basically because I don't like Roslin though). I like the spiritual and destiny aspect of this season but they need to keep the spotlight off of Lee and keep it on the Cylons...

Does anyone know how many episodes were ordered? I heard it was 22...

Angie - 1.2 is HH rating, not 1.2 million viewers, but rather 1.2% of the television homes. Homes does not = viewers and to make a long story short it's very possible that it could've had a 1.2 HH rating and still had ~2mm viewers on a live plus seven day DVR basis. The HH rating other than the spike for this year's premiere has been pretty flat since the second half of last year, and mostly a 2.0 or worse since the starting after the premiere of season 2.

At least on a HH ratings LIVE+SD basis it has lost ~40% of the homes watching since the second episode of season 2.

Robert, I saw on Battlestar wiki that Faith got 1.2 million (there's also a sad little graph plotting the demise of the show's ratings since the miniseries). I'm glad I am not the only one that became disappointed in season 2. After Home, I think it started going downhill. Then RDM jumped a year ahead and in a fit of anger, I bailed on all of season three. I tried to come back this season, but it's too boring for me. Apparently, the rest of the world agrees and has tuned out as well.

Seth, sadly we're lacking a consistent source for reliable data that includes the number of viewers. As it never appears in the weekly top 40 cable rankings, we don't see them unless I find them somewhere else. But, through the first seven episodes ratings for this season were up -- factoring in live plus seven days DVR usage it was averaging 2.1mm viewers through 7 episodes and 1.4 million 18-49 year old viewers per this article:

Seth, sadly we're lacking a consistent source for reliable data that includes the number of viewers. As it never appears in the weekly top 40 cable rankings, we don't see them unless I find them somewhere else. But, through the first seven episodes ratings for this season were up -- factoring in live plus seven days DVR usage it was averaging 2.1mm viewers through 7 episodes and 1.4 million 18-49 year old viewers per this article:

Jack, I agree -- I thought the final shot was nicely done. Lighthope, I've been disappointed since some point in season 2. Last year I thought was a complete disaster other than the final couple of episodes. This season hasn't seemed as bad to me, but it could be i've lowered my expectations.

This season has not been one of the better ones, and that is saying a lot considering that the entire series isn't exactly a shining example of good television.

It has its moments, but those moments are few and far between. My fear is that this season is going to become more self-indulgent, like the last season of Star Trek: The Next Generation did. They might avoid that, but the route they are taking is so esoteric that it's just as bad.

Tigh's face when Adama says: "You've found out a lot about yourself when you came back from New Caprica." Best. Scene. Ever.

The fight was funny, but nicely executed, and the final shot with Adama's Rapttor behind the closing titles was very cool.

Not the best episode, but, hey, it's Battlestar Galactica. I like it.
