Through yet another massive fundraising effort over the past three weeks, fans – or Jericho Rangers, as they’re often called – have put together over $6,000 to purchase TV advertising in what may be a first for a fan community seeking to show support for a beloved show. The 30-second ad, created by a talented fan with the screen name RubberPoultry, begins airing June 12th in a ten-day run that hits popular, ratings-rich shows, such as “Ghost Hunters” on the on the SciFi Channel, “Deadliest Catch” on the Discovery Channel, and other programs on the History Channel.

People, Jericho is deader than disco, move on already.
1. Its not that bad. Its actually and intelligent drama, that is ten times better then the crap like CSI and American Idol out there that just fall into the same motion and don’t change. Take a look at CSI. They NEVER changed their cast or setup until this year, and then only because the actors made them, for one reason or another. Every episode is EXACTLY the same as the last, just a different murder in a different place. BUT ITS THE SAME EXACT SETUP. That is why Jericho is a good show. It changes, it evolves, and tells an intelligent story that actually evolves and continues, not just ends week after week.

This is an amazing ad! Wasn’t that Brad Beyer’s voice “Stanley” from Jericho? I’ve never heard of fans making their own commercial to bring back a series. This has to be a first! And the billboard they did in Studio City, California… that was over 6 grand for the month too. I also read they are donating to Food Banks in the state of Kansas, and are donating again to the troops DVD’s of Jericho. These people are amazing! Hats off, Jericho fans! I loved the show too, and wish it would come back. I guess these people have advertising dollars, they’re spending them!

Great job on the ad RP. Jericho is an excellent family show that deserves a new home because there are many fans waiting to see the next season. I hope this ad and the Billboard will find that for us.

Geez I wish I loved a show that much… anyone have any recommendations? You guys (Robert & Bill) should do a post on the best shows (past & present) that people may not know about. If you feel compelled to bring a numbers game into it, why not use DVD sales. I think it would be good for the Summer…
