SWINGTOWN is going down faster than a $10 crack ho. The problem with FEAR ITSELF is its just too depressing – that ending last night was horrible. FI is doomed just like that science fiction anthology last summer. It would have been better off on cable or as a syndicated series. New Outer Limits thrives for several years in syndication – those were much better done though. The rest of the schedule was just boring repeats and reality shows.
Altho I HATED the pilot for Swingtown, I gave it chance (mostly cuz I know somebody on it), and it has gotten better each week (tho the ratings don’t reflect it), and whomever is picking their period music is a genius (I haven’t heard those songs in like 20 years and I STILL know the lyrics). If only they had had a stronger pilot to show off some of the growing and expanding characters on the show when they had the 8.8 million viewers the first week. The other problem is, if you wanted a show you have to watch with your head cocked to one side cuz the people in it were always horizontal, forget it! At it’s core Swingtown is a soap opera/morality tale (or should I say changing morality tale), and altho the writing is improving and the characters getting more interesting to watch, it’s not smutty enuf for those who tuned in to see SEX, and nobody else seems to be giving it a chance as what it is: A Period Soap! I’m gonna keep watching, mostly becuz Fear Itself sucks more balls than Harvey Firestien on a long weekend!
Here’s hoping Swingtown continues to decline as it deserves to! Most of the people I work with went through the 70′s Open Marriage fiasco and say they would just as soon forget it and have no desire to watch a show about a shady chapter in their lives!
Swingtown is nothing like Desparate Housewives.
Amen Ed! This show continues to amaze me! it's visually stunning and the characters really are starting to bloom! I cant wait for next week! Here's hoping SwingTown stays on for a long time to come! And for the haters, if you don't like it nobody is forcing you to watch it! Just don't ruin the fun for people who like this show. By the way, where did you find a crack ho for 10$? Thats A pretty good deal!
