ABC's new Dance Machine and the return of Duel were completely ignored by viewers on Friday night, particularly demo viewers where they both scored a 1.0 rating/4 share. Oops!
Still ABC wasn't in the viewer basement, Fox was. All I can figure is that the movies Fox broadcasts on Friday nights must be very, very cheap, because they perform dreadfully.
The winners weren't nearly as interesting as the losers. CBS reruns delivered the viewer win [5.82 million] on a typically light Summer Friday, but NBC took the demo crown with a 1.5 rating / 5 share. NBC's Dateline took the show demo win with a 1.6/6, and CBS's 10pm Numb3rs claimed the viewer win with but 6.23 million.

There were decent movies on TV last night but Fox’s “XXX: State of the Union” wasn’t one of them. This is why the USA Network strategy of running new summer programming on Fridays like “Monk” and “Psych” works well. I usually watch “Numbers” during its regular season but I can’t say I wait breathlessly for the repeats. It is also interesting that “House” summer repeats are not doing as well as they had in the past. I think it is because they are shown on Mondays opposite “Two and a Half Men.” That puts those of use who watch both in a dilemma. Usually, for me “Two and a Half Men” wins out, especially since I watched “House” after the strike and therefore some of the “Two and a Half Men” repeats will be new for me. Thank goodness, they are putting “House” back on Tuesdays. It fit into my schedule much better. Of cousse we’ll just have that little “what to watch on Mondays” dilemma rebound when “24″ finally returns.

the CW is nutty for getting rid of smackdown from a ratings perspective … its almost like they are aiming to fail
i hope they have a good reason for getting rid of one of their 2 shows that can break 4 million viewers when their future may depend on their ability to do so this fall … i feel kind of bad for the network
SmackDown drew a very good rating friday night it’s mostly due to the Draft WWE had that moved Triple H and Jim Ross to SmackDown from RAW those two alone can bring in more viewers than SmackDown had in the past and I agree The CW getting rid of SmackDown was a very stupid move considering it is the second highest rated show on the network next to America’s Next Top Model but oh well it will be funny to see The CW lose to MyNetworkTV on friday night’s this fall

as a casual WWE fan, i can tell you that smackdown ratings will go through the roof. The news going around is that WWE is trying to make smackdown an elite show, hence HHH, JR, and both chamionships being on smackdown at the moment. so CW will look even more dumb, now that smackdowns ratings will get even better. i think it would be interesting if MY netowork moves it back to thursdays. hmmmm…. just a thought.
Well CW has done it again, by getting rid of one of their top tier programs because it doesn’t fit in their target demographic. Well I say, CW’s loss is My NetworkTV’s gain because with the WWE Draft, Smackdown will be changing Friday nights. WWE is expecting some huge ratings for Smackdown and it is showing already. It is the CW’s current no. 1 program during the Summer months and no. 2 program all together, how dumb is the CW. They got rid of their top comedy Reba because it didn’t fit, now its getting rid of Smackdown, well too bad so sad. As a Smackdown full time fan I’m going to continue watching Smackdown no matter what station its on. Myself personally I’m going to laugh when I see the CW fail because of its bad executive decisions.

I don’t think Friday Night Smackdown needs to be moved back to Thursdays, because I don’t see it competing against shows like Grey’s Anatomy and CSI during the 9 p.m. hour. It would lose alot of viewers in my opinion and its doing better than expected on Fridays. My NetworkTV doesnt need to be stupid and move it to any other night, they need to just ride the ratings success of the WWE Draft and the show avoiding being cancelled after The CW moved it to the Friday NIght Deathslot.

I love how The CW is third on Fridays, next summer I predict that MyNetworkTV will be third/fourth with The CW being dead last. The CW is going to lose a lot of viewers on Fridays, MyNetworkTV can’t loose anymore they can just gain.

I think wrestling would do just as well, if not better, on Thursdays. It was up against Survivor and CSI in their peaks and NBC back when they were must see, and still had its highest ratings.
Well you also gotta look at WWE for making the decision to jump to MyNetwork TV as it was as much there decision as the CW's I'd bet. Who ever made that decision or will ultimately face the task of being responsible for it should be fired. Stupid move indeed.
