Scoreboard NBC ABC CBS FOX CW
Total Viewers (million) 9.04 8.15 7.38 6.90 0.94
Rating/Share: Adults 18-49 2.5/7 3.0/9 1.5/4 3.0/9 0.4/1

In one of the more competitive summer nights, NBC won the viewership title with an average of 9.04 million Tuesday on the strength of America's Got Talent and a reasonable performance by Celebrity Family Feud. But the adults 18-49 demo standouts for the night were ABC's Wipeout [4.0 demo rating / 13 share] and the season finale of Fox's Hell's Kitchen [4.1/12] which helped those two nets tie for the demo win, each with a 3.0/9 for the night.

Wipeout is a bona fide rookie hit for ABC, and Gordon Ramsay will be in the kitchen with Fox for a long time to come. On the other side of the ledger, Moment of Truth has seen better days, it's already slotted for the Fall, Fox is likely concerned. My guess is that I Survived A Japanese Game Show is still in the "renew" column. Its drop from Wipeout is large, but its results are still good. As always, CBS reruns delivered no demo viewers and CW delivered no viewers at all.

out of curiosity, what other networks have ratings as low as the CW? any cable networks?

  2. angie, Lots of cable networks draw on average more than the CW during the summer (about 10 in the most recent week), several do during the regular season. You can see weekly lists here:

Thanks! I admit, I have never looked at those before. And wow, you know you suck when the Cartoon network has you beat.

  5. Ramsay, not Ramsey…for future reference (i fixed it). I found the finale a bit disappointing and this was probably my least favorite season of HK, but nonetheless Ramsay has built an 18-49 empire and as a bonus, the whole show is a product placement ad for the restaurants and resorts he's affiliated with.

But Gordon Ramsay can't do what Victoria Jacoby did on America's Got Talent:
