On Monday night when ABC aired 3 hours of new programming, Spanish language Univision beat ABC for average viewers 3.76 million to 3.21 million and thrashed them in demo adults 18-49 with a 1.7 Not by the NYT, who has ABC "fourth" for the night]/ 5 share to ABC's 1.1/3. Univision easily beat ABC from 8-9 [Al Diablo con los Guapos vs. High School Musical: Get in the Picture] and from 9-10 [Fuego en la Sangre vs. Wanna Bet]. Only from 10-11 did ABC get any consolation, edging out a viewership win with The Mole over Christina, but settling for a demo tie. I guessed yesterday that ABC's results last night might be bleak, but it was even worse than I expected. I wonder if this will be reported elsewhere in the English media? [
As usual this summer, the overall Monday nightly race was between CBS and Fox reruns. This week, CBS edged Fox for viewers [7.47 million vs. 7.11 million] while tieing in the demo with a 2.3 rating / 7 share. NBC's unscripted shows [American Gladiators,Star, NBC] performed about as well as they have all summer putting NBC in third for viewers for the night and a tie for third in the demo with Univision, and, as usual, the CW went unwatched.
