Robert,

I almost completely agree with The headline of this post. The Nets should consider pulling out of Saturday nights IF they are not going to seriously start programming it.

Only FOX has done much with the night, over the last 2-4 years. COPS and AMW do decent numbers during the regular season. But ABC, NBC and CBS just do nothing original here. Well, ABC does have NCAA Football in the fall, but it usually does worse than CBS's Crimetime repeats.

One of the nets should try an all Spanish Language night (NBC). Heck, they couldn't do much worse than The Office repeats have been doing lately.

Sell time to MTV / VH1 to use to premiere some of their shows. Might be a win-win situation if they would require broadcast network promos ran within the night (similar to CWs agreement on Sunday nights).

Let another entity have the night to try something completely different. Apparently the Broadcast Nets don't have the "Balls" to do it.

Bill, because I didn't get the hourly breakout and as indicated in the report the data was via Marc Berman (who writes for MediaWeek, which is owned by Nielsen). Why didn't you forward me the data you have *before* I posted this? :-)

Steven, no idea at all. Just so you'll know, we only get cable ratings once a week (Tuesdays, for the prior Monday-Sun) and only the Top 40 at that. Sometimes the cable nets will pass us ratings outside the top 40, but when that happens you can usually find it elsewhere by doing a Google search. But if there will be any public data available for Fab Five, I doubt you will see it online anywhere until tomorrow (Monday).

ABC ran two different episodes of Wipeout. One at 8pm and one at 9pm. Why would you combine the ratings of two different episodes? The 9pm episode won the 18-49 demo.

Interesting comment on Quarterlife there. I'm not sure how publicized this is, but at least as of a few months ago, someone is trying very hard to save Quarterlife, if not the show than at least the website. Long story short, Quarterlife tried to get itself broadcast on my Universities closed circuit television station (through my student run club), and my impression was that they were trying to get that through in many other locations.
It didn't broadcast (no time left in the year) but I did watch it. Its not bad, it just started throwing in new characters and new plots too fast. Yes, my generation suffers from acute A.D.D. at times, and we do like a plot that advances and characters that develop, but give us a break. If I need a flow chart to keep track of who knows who and who's doing what, I'm not watching.
Maybe if they re-boot it and take it a bit slower...Its not like they could do much worse, right?
