Though Continuum was a definite improvement over Ark, there still wasn't enough O'Neill for my tastes. Rumor is that a third movie will be Jack-centric, which is fine by me. RDA is getting back into shape after multiple surgeries and to this day, nothing beats the chemistry of the original SG-1 team.

Outlander, no idea really. DVD sales revenue doesn't = pure profits (Best Buy and Walmart take their cut). But the US isn't the only market, and they will of course air the thing on television eventually and generate revenue that way as well.

Ark is a haze to me at this point, but as I remember it had much more in the way of special effects than Continuum, but still I'm surprised to hear production costs were $7mm

The budget for Ark of Truth was $7m and as of this week, it brought in $8.5 million in DVD sales. I know you're mainly a TV guy, but is that actually a decent profit? It makes me wonder how Continuum is going to do and if they'll produce a third Stargate themed movie.
