I am tired of the "oprah opinion" being the only opinion. We have given her exclusive rights for years, and it is time to end. It is time to reclaim our brain cells (for heavens sakes). She endorses a book, suddenly a million copies are sold, and that goes for any product. When she endorses a unknown man for president, and the public goes for it................well people, you need to smarten up.

For once, when this woman says jump..................DON'T FREAKIN JUMP

If I have learned one thing, she doesn't stand for women, she stands for control.

For me her endorsement of Obama had the opposite effect. Obama is exactly what America needs right now. I gained a lot of respect for Oprah when she had the courage and integrity to put the future of her country above her own personal popularity, and I've been watching her even more as a result.

Mabirdy, there are so many factors involved with the analysis that we don't have access to (including local markets, competition, and any local preemptions) that it is not possible for us to draw any conclusions. As for a connection between ratings and presidential endorsements. I've yet to see the data set that reakkt makes this case. we certainly can't make it from the data we see.

In our small market (Pitttsburg, KS/Joplin, MO) Oprah is opposite Judge Judy. Dr. Phil is the lead in on the same station as Judge Judy. Judy's numbers have been steady this year. It might just depend on Oprah's competition rather than her political endorsement. In addition Oprah frequently is so so serious. Maybe people are looking for something more entertaining.
