I am wondering on a regular night what ratings are higher...5-6 pm or 11-midnight..
Seems to me the folks on the West Coast would be more into watching the Live Event instead of staying up till Midnight. The East Coast has gotten trained to do that when it comes to sporting events over the years....the West Coast has been trained for the 5 pm start....

Maybe I'm wrong...

Sarah is undoubtedly getting terminated by the Olympics. Of course, the fact that season 1 is coming out on DVD next week doesn't help. Who wants to weed through commercials when you can get the whole thing minus commercials in another week?

I dunno George. I'm not the one who forked over nearly a billion dollars per Olympics for rights to air several summer and winter Olympic events. Let's say you can use your billion dollars to get back 1.2 billion by doing it their way, OR make 750 million and lose some money your way.

I'm not saying it would work out like that, but it's clear the advertisers are willing to pay more for primetime viewing because they will get more viewers in primetime. Realistically, not as many people are watching on the west coast if it's on at 5pm-8pm instead of 8pm-11pm.

I'd prefer the 5pm-8pm coverage on the west coast for sure, but...it's not my money, so this is one instance where I'm not as quick to disparage NBC as I normally would be. :-)

NBC's coverage is a joke. It's the only TV in the world that only cares about money no matter what. How on Earth can you not show the events live for all the country. It's the stupidest thing EVER.
