The season premiere of Fox's Bones opened strong last night with 9.69 million viewers, a demo adults 18-49 3.3 rating / 9 share, and a demo adults 18-34 2.9 rating / 9 share leading Fox to victory for the night in all 3 categories. NBC was second in the adults 18-49 demo with a 2.6/7, and Univision was second in the adults 18-34 demo with a 2.3/7.
The season premiere of CW's America's Next Top Model opened down about 32% from the premiere overnight numbers from last year (of 5.15 million viewers and an 18-49 rating/share of 2.5/8), averaging just 3.48 million viewers an 18-49 1.7 rating/ 5 share. Berman calls that 3rd for the time period, but he ignores Univision results, it was actually 4th. It had an 18-34 1.9/6 for the first hour and 2.1/6 for the second hour, those were both 3rd place for the time periods. Those are ominous results for the CW's top rated show from last year, considering that it's #2 show, Friday Night Smackdown, is leaving.
NBC's America's Got Talent was the most watched show of the night averaging 10.15 million viewers from 8-10pm, it was also the #2 show for the night in the adults 18-49 demo.
NBC lead the 10-11pm Wednesday night broadcast numbers from the Republican National Convention with 7.72 million viewers and an 18-49 2.4 rating / 6 share. All 3 broadcast nets numbers though were above the comparable Wednesday overnights for the Democrats. For TV ratings Sarah Palin > Joe Biden.
