NBC's Deal or No Deal was the most watched show of the night with 9.611 million viewers and helped NBC win the night with an average of 7.422 million viewers.
The return of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles on Monday drew 6.343 million viewers, an adults 18-49 rating of 2.4 and an adults 18-34 rating of 2.1. That won the adults 18-49 demo and was third in the adults 18-34 demo for the hour. Those numbers, however, were well down from both the overnights for last season's first or second episodes and the finale. Here are the final numbers for all the first season's Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles episodes. Note, comparing final numbers and overnight fast affiliate ratings can be a bit apples and oranges, but should give you some perspective.
Prison Break's second outing results were nearly identical to its premiere last Monday with 6.478 million viewers and demo ratings of 2.6 for both adults 18-49 and 18-34. That won the 18-34 demo for the hour and was second in the 18-49 demo.
Those two shows helped Fox win both the nightly adults 18-49 demo with an average 2.5 rating and the adults 18-34 demo with an average of 2.3.
Gossip Girl's second outing against more competition was down 7% in viewers from its premiere last Monday, with 3.158 million viewers, an 18-49 rating of 2.2 1.6 and an 18-34 rating of 2.2 were down 0.1 rating points for each demo. That was enough to finish second in the adults 18-34 demo [behind Al Diablo con los Guapos] for the hour. We don't get gender demo information, but will likely see it later in a CW press release.
One Tree Hill, the less PR lavished CW offering for Monday, outdid Gossip Girl across the board with 3.246 million viewers an 18-49 rating of 1.7 and an 18-34 rating of 2.3 [which tied for second for the hour].
The season finale of ABC's High School Musical drew 4.134 million viewers and was last among the six networks in the demos for the hour. I wouldn't look for it to be back on ABC, but perhaps it may appear on one of the Mouse's associated cable networks. The CMA Music Festival finished an uncompetitive 4th and 3rd for viewers in its two hours with 6.379 and 5.202 million viewers. I'm not sure ABC was expecting much more.

Definitions:
Fast Affiliate Overnight Ratings: Local metered-market ratings service of Nielsen Station Index (NSI) in which household ratings and shares are provided to clients the morning following the day or evening of telecast. While routinely used for "next day" immediate analysis, these fast affiliate ratings are by process inaccurate for programs that air live across a network since they represent affiliate time period performance. For example, last night's 10-11pm affiliate #'s would reflect 10pm on the East Coast but also 10pm on the West Coast which for a live event would not represent the same broadcast or portion of the broadcast.
Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.
Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)
LIVE+SD: The number that watched a program either while it was broadcast OR watched via DVR on the same day [through 3AM the next day] the program was broadcast.

Ouch for FOX, geat for OTH, i mean beating GG is just a huge success
wow tscc wont last
Prison Break is horrible I hope it gets canned soon.
Last week Gossip Girl had a 1.7 with adults 18-49. Is your 2.2 a typo?
The CW will claim (and fairly so) that it won the 18-34 demo outright which will because it does not compete for the same advertising dollars as Univision. I think that’s fair and true, although I do believe Univision’s strength in the youth demos deserves more attention by the national English speaking media.
Since the CW (or ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox) do not compare numbers to Univision, CW will almost certainly have claims to victory among women 18-34 as well.
Taps, indeed. How much longer can Prison Break even last? It’s completely lost touch with anything resembling a TV show. Cancel that crap already.
I say once again, not good news for the tvbythenumbers.com favorite little show, The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Damn, damn!
I can’t believe OTH did better than Gossip Girl!

Troy, you are correct.
Troy, thanks, 1.6 was the correct number, the copy has been fixed.
I can Ben given the quality of those two shows, OTH is far superior
Jack, we prefer to think of it as our favorite BIG show, but damn indeed.
I dont follow OTH, but my impression (from Spain) is that GG has more promotion than OTH (tv ads, magazines, hottest cast..) and that should give GG better ratings than OTH.
Anyway, i believe that OTH wouldnt have such ratings without the strengh of GG.

No matter how hard it’s cricized i still like PB, my only hope is that the story will be wrapped up. I can expect anyting from FOX
I think the benchmark for Fringe now must be 12.7 million (~2x TSCC). I won’t be surprised if it happens as Fox *seemingly* (emphasis on seemingly) promoted Fringe four times as much as TSCC.
Ben OTH has had those kind of numbers on its own last season. And yes OTH has about a tenth of GG’s promotion
This is very bad for Terminator. We’ll need to see what ratings Fringe pulls down. I mean, TSCC won the demo and came in a close second in the overalls, but did so against some goofy ABC program and a repeat on CBS. Overall, it looks like taps for Terminator, which makes me very sad.
Bill, yeah, my mistake, favorite BIG show. I still remember the season 1 Summer-Glau-TSCC-loving Monday night ratings threads. Those were awesome.
Yeah, Bob… I think GG deserves 4 millions minimum, for my point of view the audience it has is ridiculous!
90210 tonight… i think it will get 4.2m. no more.

Dang that is not good for Terminator. It was a pretty good episode too. I had expected closer to 9 million since it was the season premiere and hopefully the show had picked up some interest with the DVD.
Still it looks like they won the hour for the 18-49yr demo at least. Anybody know when we can expect the time-shifted numbers? Hoping for some kind of good news there.
Sorry to see the numbers are lower than usual for TSCC and PB. Seems to be a trend for tv now, low viewers. I totally enjoy both shows though, you just got to go with it and try not to analyse too much. Of course both are 100% out to lunch on reality but they make for good entertainment if you like car chases and seeing stuff get blown up.
I have a nasty feeling that Fringe is going to do big numbers tonight but will drift off fast in the next month but will still manage a cult following like both the above named shows. That’s ok I guess. I’ll probably be one of them.
Gossip Girl did good I guess, not far off what it did last week and the CW was pretty happy with that. It kinda confuses me though. The CW is a network just like ABC & Fox, right? It’s not a cable channel like FX or USA anyway, so why is it that 3 million is good for them, but 6 or 7 million isn’t enough on other networks? Is CW not transmitted into as many homes as the others?
