America's Got Talent was the most watched show of the night and led NBC to a win for average viewership of 10.058 million. AGT drew 10.469 million in its first hour and 12.514 million in its second hour. It also won the adults 18-49 demo in its second hour.

Fox and NBC tied for the demo adults 18-49 win for the night with a 2.6 rating, and Fox tied with Univision for the adults 18-34 win for the night with a 2.1 rating.

Fox's season premiere of 'Til Death was quiet with 6.356 million viewers and a 2.4 demo adults 18-49 rating, although that was second for the hour in the demo against mostly repeat competition. That viewership is down 18% and the 18-49 demo rating is down 11% from last season's premiere on 9/19/07 which had 7.76 million viewers and a 2.7 demo rating. It was also the Fox's weakest performing show last year that was renewed, so that's not much of a surprise to me.

The series premiere of Fox's Do Not Disturb was even quieter with 4.884 million viewers and a 2.0 adults 18-49 rating.

Bones viewership of 8.908 million was down about 8% from its season premiere of 9.69 million last week (which is not a disaster), but it slipped a bit more among the demos. It's 18-49 rating went from a 3.3 to a 2.9 and its 18-34 went from a 2.9 to a 2.5, still winning both demo groups for its hour.

CW's America's Next Top Model increased its viewership almost 12% to 3.839 million from its season premiere of 3.48 million. It boosted its 18-49 rating from 1.7 to 2.0 and its 18-34 demo to 2.4 from ~2.0. It finished second in the 18-34 demo for its hour. Edit by Seidman: ANTM won its slot among women 18-34, women 12-34 and female teens according to the CW (note: CW does not compare itself to anything that may have happened on cable or Univision). CW also claims victory with young women for the entire night versus ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC.

The season finale of CBS's Greatest American Dog was up to 5.532 million viewers from 4.89 million last week. Still its hard to see it coming back after its results this summer.

Univision's Fuego en la Sangre won the adults 18-34 demo from 9-10 with a 2.1 rating.

Fast Affiliate Overnight Ratings: Local metered-market ratings service of Nielsen Station Index (NSI) in which household ratings and shares are provided to clients the morning following the day or evening of telecast. While routinely used for "next day" immediate analysis, these fast affiliate ratings are by process inaccurate for programs that air live across a network since they represent affiliate time period performance. For example, last night's 10-11pm affiliate #'s would reflect 10pm on the East Coast but also 10pm on the West Coast which for a live event would not represent the same broadcast or portion of the broadcast.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

LIVE+SD: The number that watched a program either while it was broadcast OR watched via DVR on the same day [through 3AM the next day] the program was broadcast.
