JAY LEADS 'Late Show' BY A 15 PERCENT MARGIN IN 18-49 VIEWERS AND Conan TOPS 'LATE Late Show' BY 25 PERCENT 

IN THE YOUNGER HALF OF THE TARGET 18-49 DEMO, ADULTS 18-34, JAY STRETCHES HIS LEAD TO 39 PERCENT AND Conan'S MARGIN JUMPS TO 63 PERCENT

BURBANK, Calif. – October 9, 2008 – NBC's late-night champs have won the week of September 29-October 3, as "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" won the 11:35 p.m. ET hour over CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman" by a 15 percent margin in adult 18-49 viewers and "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" prevailed at 12:35 a.m. over CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" by a 25 percent margin. 

Both "Tonight" and "Late Night" stretched their leads among younger adults, with Jay topping Letterman for the week by a 39 percent advantage among adults 18-34 and Conan achieving a 63 percent margin over Ferguson. 

Season to date, Jay is averaging a 16 percent margin of victory over Letterman in adult 18-49 viewers and a 24 percent advantage in total viewers, while Conan's leads over Ferguson are 25 percent in 18-49 and 4 percent in total viewers. Both Jay and Conan once again pull away among younger adults, with Jay leading the season by a 36 percent margin among adult 18-34 viewers and Conan winning by 56 percent. 

For the week of September 29-October 3, Jay's average 1.643 million adults 18-49 topped the 1.434 million of Letterman; in total viewers, Jay's audience of 4.652 million persons beat Letterman's 3.627 million; and in adults 18-34, Jay's 697,000 out-delivered Letterman's 500,000. At 12:35 a.m. ET, Conan's 984,000 adults 18-49 for the week out-delivered Ferguson's 788,000; in total viewers, Conan's 1.920 million beat Ferguson's 1.812 million; and in adults 18-34, Conan's 495,000 topped Ferguson's 304,000.
