IN THE VALUABLE 18-34 DEMO, 'Last Call' BEATS KIMMEL ENCORES AND PULLS WITHIN A TENTH OF A rating POINT OF FERGUSON AND 'Nightline'

BURBANK, Calif. - October 17, 2008 - NBC's late-night lineup has won the week of October 6-10 in adult 18-49 viewers, as "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" took the 11:35 p.m. ET hour over CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman" by a 10 percent margin and "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" prevailed at 12:35 a.m. over CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" by a 9 percent margin in 18-49 viewers.

Both Jay and Conan stretched their leads among younger adults, with Jay topping Letterman for the week by a 30 percent advantage among adults 18-34 and Conan achieving a 43 percent margin over Ferguson.

Season to date, Jay is delivering a 13 percent margin of victory over Letterman in adult 18-49 viewers and a 25 percent advantage in total viewers, while Conan's leads over Ferguson are 19 percent in 18-49 and 2 percent in total viewers. Both Jay and Conan once again pull away among younger adults, with Jay leading the season by a 33 percent margin among adult 18-34 viewers and Conan winning by 51 percent.

While "Late Night" trailed "Late Late Show" last week by a narrow 7,000 persons in total viewers, "Late Night" topped "Late Late Show" in adults, men and women 18-34; adults, men and women 18-49; adults 25-54 and women 25-54.

At 1:35 a.m. ET for the week, "Late Call with Carson Daly" tied ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" encores in adult 18-49 rating and topped Kimmel in adults 18-34 (with a 0.4 rating vs. a 0.3). In that valuable 18-34 demo, "Last Call" also pulled within a tenth of a rating point of Ferguson and ABC's "Nightline" (0.5 each). Versus the same week last year, "Last Call" was up 10 percent in 18-49 viewers (598,000 vs. 544,000), up 12 percent in 18-34 viewers (280,000 vs. 251,000) and up 1 percent in total viewers (1.090 million vs. 1.081 million).

For the week of October 6-10, Jay's average 1.678 million adults 18-49 topped the 1.532 million of Letterman; in total viewers, Jay's audience of 4.698 million persons beat Letterman's 3.658 million; and in adults 18-34, Jay's 697,000 out-delivered Letterman's 538,000. At 12:35 a.m. ET, Conan's 941,000 adults 18-49 for the week out-delivered Ferguson's 867,000; in total viewers, Conan's 1.809 million trailed Ferguson's 1.816 million; and in adults 18-34, Conan's 485,000 topped Ferguson's 340,000.
