As they say in the NFL, "after reviewing the play, the call on the field stands."  I'm not sure if Nielsen can charge the CW a "timeout", but apparently the CW's request to investigate the results based on the metered market numbers and the disparity last night between OTH and GG,  was investigated and "the original call stands".

I’m glad that One Tree Hill is finally getting the attention it deserves. I love Gossip Girl as well, but One Tree Hill’s quality this season is far better than any season to date and the ratings prove it.

  4. Julia, if you can’t fight City Hall, you definitely can’t fight Nielsen!

And as I have discussed with Robert, when the CW resorts to comparing results vs. last year in their press releases, you know they’re grasping for straws. Last years results were *so* bad that any comparison with them will be positive.

    Oops, except for Sunday nights!

Good for One Tree Hill. They should sign them up for another season and cut their losses with Gossip Girl. The press release fails to mention that OTH had 3.65 million viewers to Gossip Girl’s 3.0 million. The CW can talk about the “buzz” that shows like GG and 90210 create all they want, but shows like Smallville, One Tree Hill, and Top Model continue to be the only things keeping them on the air in the ratings department.
