Scandal at MRC?

Nikki Finke has some skinny on some scandal at Media Rights Capital, but apparently it's so juicy she can't reveal it without risking lawsuits:

Who's To Blame For MRC's CW Debacle?

Is it the fault of Keith Samples whose last day as president of Media Rights Capital is October 31st?

(I just was told that he was fired for "irregularities". Yes I know what they are. No, I can't write them without being sued. The two sides were trying to work out a separation agreement which is why it's taken so long for Samples to exit.) - read the rest on Deadline Hollywood Daily.

But wait, there's more...

Yes! Yes! Yes! This is all bad karma for Les Moonves cancelling Moonlight! Muwahaha! ;)

I hope this leads to another lock-out of CBS in the drama category of the Emmys – imagine that, nearly a dozen shows and not one of them worthy of an Emmy nod. Guess quantity can’t speak for quality, huh?

Who’d want to nominate them anyway. Off the top of my head Ghost Whisperer might have been their only show that has ever gotten a nod one’d take seriously (female lead, obviously). Can’t nominate procedurals really because there’s no art merit
which, thank god, Emmies etc have been about so far.

  3. I’m confused. What does this have to do with CBS or any Emmys?

  4. Holly

Silly Julia! Trouble at the offices of a production company that airs shows on one night on the CW is obviously related to CBS canceling their worst rated show. And when CBS once again does not get any Emmy noms for their dramas, it will, of course, be because they canceled their lowest rated show, which would have never been nominated for an Emmy.

Actually, Nikki Finke mentioned Les Moonves in the article, and anything with the most tenuous connection to CBS garners spam about Moonlight.

  5. Ah, yes. Burn him!

Wow, Julia – Holly, you need to chill and take a joke once in a while, frowning will give you wrinkle, and too much satire will turn you grey ;)

The fact is that management is suffering from all the bad choices made within the last year, and excuse me for saying that there are a lot of misogynistic pigs at the helm of CBS and the WB right now, that’s all. You don’t have to take insults to CBS or the WB or the CW to heart: you act like it is a direct insult to your own person, that can provoke mystery.

  7. Moonlightfan, I’m sorry, how was my complete confusion over your posts me being insulted? I didn’t take anything to heart, I promise.
