The writers strike hurt a lot of shows. Heroes numbers during season 2 were good if I remember, even though I thought season 2 was not as good as season 1. Season 3 is far better than season 2. I enjoy watching Heroes, and if you surf tv land, there are so many shows that worse.

STYLE: most things in the world have already be done twice over. Heroes in my mind is a extradionary show and much more superior than X-men; which seemed to have similar stories but when you at it Heroes in my mind is much more… intelligent in the plotlines. Sad that its waning in the ratings; i wish people would keep watching; it deserves so much more than a shit and cheesy (same basic crap joke after another) show like Two and a half men. Seems like theres no hope for NBC; god i hate CBS. It feels like all they have are crime drams and cheesy comedies.
Chuck i think was going to get these ratings from the final ratings from season one; i think it will be axed. The writers strike in some way may have given less episodes for plotlines but it also gave less episodes to fall in the ratings. (therefore give a lower average).

The bloom is off Heroes?
Are you serious?
The bloom has been off Heroes since season 2, because of a lawsuit filed against NBC and tim kring, And most intelligent people in the tv and film industry already understand that fact.

Jeff Zucker is a moron, and he should have contacted those two NYC artists that tim kring stole that work from 2 seasons ago.
It’s the only way to save this lame show.
Go back to the original creators, those artists work were dynamic.

It’s really too bad that the public may never see those original story lines, because of the lawsuit.
Those story lines went to number one in season one and drew millions of viewers worldwide,
and we have The Twins and their incredible art to thank for that.
“The Twins”, are in schools and colleges everyday in NYC teaching young students what it means to be” ordinary people with extraordinary abilities”, that can paint the future on canvas before it happens.
NYC heard all about The Twins art and how NBC stole it a few days ago on the radio.
The Twins are able to send students that they teach to the Met museum in NYC to show why their artistic ability is possible, it’s called LUBA DIVINATION ART and this LUBA ART is the foundation for tim’s storyline of the African artist that can paint the future.
And please keep it mind, that while he’s being sued in an Appellate court by an African Luba artist that can paint the future, tim kring introduces the storyline of an African artist that can paint the future in season3.
Is this smart or retarded?

From the latino Isaac Mendez to the African Usutu, what’s next? The Irish artist that can paint the future? why kill off Isaac, just to bring the same power back in a black man in season 3?
The real life actor Santiago Cabrerra and his agent must be livid.

Heroes doesn’t work because it’s borrowed, stolen and hacked up material from other original artist copyrighted original works.( The Twins, The Watchmen, X-men, etc…)
tim kring and his so-called writing crew are no different from car theft rings.
If tim kring wasn’t white, he’d already be in jail.

Heroes in my opinion is one of the reasons I still watch NBC(aside from L&O:SVU and the original L&O and Chuck. There just doesn’t seem to be a reason to check out NBC. I love Heroes and will stick with this show. I can’t be a fairweather fan and this season is picking up the pace rapidly and getting rid of some of the flaws that didn’t get fully realised in season 2. Chuck is postioned great as a starter show on Monday. Can’t wait for NBC to reclaim the throne

It seems like the only timeslot they can move MOWE to is Friday and ship LJ back to the fiery depths. I’m glad to see Life getting a… well… lifeline as it were, given that starting the season against CSI Miami to try to build an audience after such a long hiatus was a pretty boneheaded move. MOWE might be able to steal some viewers on fridays, despite it being a young viewer wasteland.

I know BL has bad demos and is a terrible lead out to… pretty much everything, except for being good at shedding the young viewers and retaining all the old. I’m sure the cost of the show is high given the cast but it would have seemed like a good Friday night show considering it gets fairly decent overall viewers and it’s not going to pull young viewers anyway. BL with 20/20… a metamucil dream night.

DWTS was so incredibly entertaining last night. We enjoyed every minute of it. From the Viennese Waltz to the Hip-Hop battle it has been one of the most competitive, uplifting, and fun filled seasons I’ve had the priviledge of watching. I know it is going to be sad for millions of fans when and if Cloris Leachman gets voted off tonight.

When looking at the key demographics, My Own Worst Enemy is performing on par w/ the 18-49 yr olds, & above average w/ the 18 – 34 yr olds for the time slot. Which is pretty good when compared to total viewers. Of course the Heroes retention is pretty bleak.

I think Chuck has hope to go up. This week instead of Terminator it was up against the world series. Sure, it was really low for a world series game, but still way stronger than Terminator.

NBC has four dramas on deck for midseason, as well as an obscene amount of reality shows. While I doubt they’ll be canceling MOWE too quickly, I’m not sure they’ll really bother trying it out elsewhere, when they have plenty to fill its spot with.

Robert, do you think NBC will try and do something with Enemy before they kill it? I know this sounds crazy, but I really like it. Haven’t watched last night’s show yet, but the first first episode was pretty good, and the second was very good. Think I posted this elsewhere, but you could have knocked me over with a pin after that second episode, considering how scathing all the reviews were. I mean, at least it is entertaining, which I can only say about one other show on television at this point (Big Bang).

Although the latest episode of Life gave me hope that it could get back on track, assumming it doesn’t get cancelled either.

I don’t know, just hoping that 2.something demo will keep MOWE alive.

i don’t watch heroes but it’s amazing how quickly it has dropped.

you remember when people used to just watch a show and be more loyal and not bail so quickly? maybe it’s because everyone takes it so seriously now than they used to.

i’m always reading that when someone sees a (what they perceive to be) a bad episode of housewives, heroes, lost… etc… they want to stop watching. very fickle.

when there are a few weak episodes of gg, there will be an army of discontented fans looking to jump ship.

It seems like the ONLY numbers Heroes has is 18-34. Still it’s about NBC’s only cash cow. If the numbers keep on hemorrhaging like they are I see a tighter belt on Kring and crew’s budget for next season. Not to mention less promotion. Heroes: the next ER, L&O, and all the other “That’s still on?” programming at the peacock. The bloom is way off the rose and firmly on 60 Rock and The Office. Where it rightfully belongs.

I expect “Heroes” to last another season and that will be it. I’m one of the loyal fans who defected this season, as it just became too muddled and confusing, and I got tired of Hiro playing the bumbling clown part every week. It’s too bad because it really was a great show in its first season.

HEROES downt to only 8 million viewers? Only its key 18-49 demo is keeping it alive. But if that sinks below 3.0 – it might get the axe or if it does get another season will require large budget cuts. Jericho had 8 million when it got the axe the first time (though its key demo was in the mid 2′s back then, if I recall correctly) The bloom is off the rose with HEROES; its no longer the must see hip show it used to be. Its going the way of its predecessor, THE 4400.

Oh well, at least LOST is guaranteed to finish its story arc with a planned 2010 ending.

Hooked, not really because you are comparing a.) somewhat bad data, and b.) half hourly data to hourly data. It’s convoluted to break out the half hour data for Fox because they had two segments (8p-8:27p, pregame) and 8:27-8:30 (game). Adjusted for time zones, TBBT beat the World Series pregame in total viewers, too, even the 3 minutes. But the 8:30-9pm portion actually had 10.39 million, unfortunately updating tables with half hourly data isn’t my thing, but CBS beat Fox in the 8:00-8:30 slot regardless (but didn’t win, DWTS did).

Holly, am I reading this right…..World series had more overall viewers, but TBBt had higher demo, which according to advertisers and networks is better? So CBS could say that they won the time slot? I am surprised that Dancing does better than Two and Half Men.

Well luckily for Chuck, Heroes and MOWE aren’t doing the best, so I hope the numbers are passable. I would really feel a lot better about Chuck’s chances at another season though if the viewership could at least creep up a bit. I’m very encouraged by the quality of the episodes so far this season, so I’m hoping the story arc for sweeps just knocks it out of the park.

Vader, fair point, but… Last week when MOWE went up against a new CSI: Miami, it was second (2.2 vs. 2.6), so it actually went down slightly up against the rerun. Probably not really good news, but still a fair point!

Gary Unmarrieds % retention rate out of 2.5 Men was significantly higher than Worst Week ever had. With rules waiting in the wings, i think Worst Weeks days are numbered.

MOWE is a huge disappointment for NBC. They have lost their footing on the Monday battleground (which was one of the last nights they had ok footing on). I think the numbers will rebound once baseball is out of the way, but not by much. Also, i realize why they launched MOWE in this timeslot, but it’s not a good fit out of heroes (not that anything else they have would be particularly good). It actually would have been good inbetween the new wednesday lineup with Knight Rider at 8, Enemy at 9, and L&O at 10. But that leaves Life stuck in no-man’s land, and another big question mark as to what-in-the-world-do-we-put-behind-heroes. I think one of NBC’s biggest problems is that they are despereately trying to find something that can take advantage of the heroes lead-in, and in the process have tried to force it too much, and probably hurt some shows that could have done decently somewhere else on their schedule.

Angie — there is a difference between the aggregate 18-34 and Women 18-34. Based on the data I saw (from a source that wasn’t the CW) they aren’t lying. GG and DWTS tied among *women* 18-34 for the 8:00-8:30 half hour, and CW (narrowly) won the 8:30p-9p half hour in that demo.
