  1. jon

    winner and still champion–Keith Olbermann!

  2. Jim

Ah, but if you count the repeat showings, O’reilly is still up by 55,000 in the demo (and of course, way up in total viewers).

  3. shobo

    winner and still champion–Bill OReilly!

  4. America47000

O’Reilly dominates with the rerun. Is that an indication of West Coast viewership? After all, the live broadcast is at 5 p.m. in the west, when many are still returning from work. The younger set consisting of students and the unemployed may be boosting Olbermann’s 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT number

  5. America, several factors come to mind:
West Coast viewing as you guessed
O’Reilly’s demographic is somewhat less likely to have a DVR, so is more likely to want to watch a later airing live instead of recording and watching the original.
Different competition in that hour. Probably the biggest reason.

  6. Robert Lewis

Lou Dobbs of CNN (see how he is registered to vote) and what he pays in property tax on some parcels of land in New Jersey

    14 acres for $26.03 annually
    31 acres for $146.94 annually
    30 acres for $238.08 annually
    62 acres for $414.78 annually
    43 acres for $368.28 annually
    90 acres for $597.06 annually

270 acres for $1,793.27 equals $6.64 (six dollars and sixty-four cents) an acre for property tax

I love Bill Oreilly. You go Bill. Go Sean Hannity!!!!! Go Greta. I love Fox News.

  8. Bill Gorman: My account keeps getting hacked into on this site and someone is using my name to post comments. I even changed my password. Can you help me out?

  9. Jim: Thats the thing… you don’t count the repeat shows totaled with the live shows. It’s the live show that viewers and advertisers care about. You are just like every typical Olbermann hater… can’t take O’Reilly losing on his first show, so you choose to point out that O’Reilly won the repeat. What a pathetic argument.

  10. shobo: O’Reilly… still champion? Obviously you missed the ratings. Good job.

  11. WHAT: there are no user names and passwords on this blog.

we can’t help you. as I suggested last week, you can follow the instructions below the box to type a comment into to personalize your comments with an avatar (picture). Otherwise, we can’t help you.

If I figured this out right, O’Reilly’s audience is aging and fast.

At 8pm, Olbermann has an audience aged 24 to 64 of 2,007,000. Giving him an audience aged 2 to 24 and over 64 of 305,000.

O’Reilly’s age 24 to 64 audience is 2,159,000. His viewers under age 24 and over 64 is 1,369,000.

Considering these numbers are from a Friday night, Halloween no less, I believe it’s pretty safe to say that the numbers outside that 24 to 64 range are mostly OVER age 64.

Fox’s audience is definately aging out of the ad demographics.

  13. Oxford, there is no way from these numbers to calculate under 25 or over 64 accurately.

(there is overlap between the 25-54 and 35-64 and that difference can’t be calculated with these numbers — and adding them together won’t work because it double counts everyone between 35-54)

  14. shobo

    WHATliberalmedia

What zip code in OZ are you from?

  15. shobo

If McCain wins tomorrow, you can almost bet that Olbermann will have his biggest ratings ever (maybe even overtake Billo for a single night). There will be to many from the middle and right in this country tuning in that night to witness an on screen hari kari (professional that is). I got my DVR already set up, just in case.

After that he and MSNBC will be going down hill as the country puts politics on the back burner. They will be headed to the lower depths of the ratings for prime time cable (just above CNBC). He better keep his NBC sports job. Rachels show will most definately be cancelled. What was MSNBC thinking putting her on???? Four straight hours of the two biggest cowards spewing the worst kind of hate on cable.

  16. Nick C

Shobo, you do understand that this site has a built in spell checker right? Here you are questioning the intelligence of people while you can’t spell definitely or canceled. I can’t recall ever hearing Rachel Maddows “spew,” hate either. I thought that was a big reason for her show’s popularity. She may lean one way, but she isn’t hateful about it at all. Which is what we need on TV and on the Radio. All this hate including yours is just tiresome.

  17. Nick C

Sorry my Oxford education is showing again. “Cancelled,” is of course totally acceptable in the States.

  18. shobo: Somewhere that I can see the ratings where Olbermann beats O’Reilly… how about you? Neverland… where everyone pretends that O’Reilly is the winner when he loses?

  19. oxfdblue

    Rob…

Thanks for that. I had a feeling it was too easy to figure out. I knew something wasn’t right.

  20. shobo

Its funny how liberals are the first to tout their edjucation when they try to win points when arguing their point. Thanks Nick for showing your true colours.

As far as Rachel goes, she is a coward in the mold of Keith. She regurgitates the same crap that Keith does in his hour with no one to challenge her. Nuff said about her as she will be gone in early 2009.

Chris Mathews leans way left also(Barack sends a tinkle down my leg), but at least has those on who appose his viewpoint. I can at least respect that.

When Keith wins all 3 demos, then Keith has one that ratings battle. Hopefully that will be tomorrow.
