LOL Frank!! Yeah, that was totally priceless. Cameron rules. I agree that this episode was one of the best of the season (I think only second to the season opener). I loved it so much I just had to buy it off iTunes (even though I recorded it on my dvr, lol)

By the way Nick, so is FOX actually getting a good amount of money from the show? It just seems like since the ratings aren’t hot that it wouldn’t be doing real well money wise.

My hope for TSCC is the Spring schedule with Idol and 24 will just draw more viewers to FOX in general and help the ratings. I think that is FOX’s hope too. Otherwise, yeah, we may only get season two out of this show.

Regardless, Monday’s episode was one of the best so far this season. I loved the touch the writers threw in about Cameron’s obsession with recovering her purple leather jacket back from the thieves.

Cameron: “You have my jacket.”
Thief wearing the jacket: “Come and get it.”
Cameron: *pulls gun* “Come and give it to me.”

Several weeks ago, all I was hearing was that SCC was going to be off the air soon. Then it got picked up for the season. Can anyone tell me why? The word was so negative and the ratings were (and still are) terrible. I mean, I like the show but it just has not performed. Why did Fox decide to keep it around?

The sad part of the whole ratings thing is, the shows which get the low ratings are not bad, atleast on Mondays.. TSCC is very good ( for every Terminator fan), Prison Break ( Good with still continuing the brilliant plots) and Chuck ( This one is really better than the other shows).. Even though these 3 shows are good.. plot wise and story wise.. still they get very low ratings..

Erm no, nice try. I’m sorry I’m being objective and pointing out bad numbers when I see them, unlike everyone else who ignores them and calls them good. The US vs, EU comparison is so off base it’s not even funny. Both shows air here, not overseas, so calling one show more relevant than the other for those reasons is idiotic. Any show that takes multiple weeks off over a short span will lose viewers, you don’t have to have much of a clue to figure that out.

Honestly the two shows are doing pretty much the same as far as I’m concerned. PB has slightly higher demos sure, but it’s on at the 9 pm timeslot which is watched by more people usually. Switch the two’s timeslots and TSCC would be ahead of it most likely.

Remember that TSCC is the hot topic right now, so obviously the numbers will be discussed a lot more than PB. I don’t understand what the problem is with that. It’s like complaining about how much we talk about the bad economy in the US by pointing out the bad economy in the EU, and then asking why aren’t we talking about the EU economy as much as we’re talking about the US one (assuming you live in the US).

PB’s numbers aren’t good but have been better than TSCC, objectively. Slightly higher viewers and better demos pretty much every week in recent memory. As for Vader, he’s just salty because TSCC is sinking so he’s projecting.

Vader is right, everyone who mentions the bad TSCC ratings completely fails to mention that Prison Break is doing just as bad! I guess it shows that no one actually cares about PB in any way.

Idol is probably the only show that can move to Thursday nights. Anything else is gonna lose a huge amount of viewers. With CSI, Survivor, and Grey’s trending downward in ratings it could probably move to a time slot opposite any one of them and beat it. This would effectively give FOX 4 very solid (if not spectacular by their standards) nights in the ratings.

Mon: 8/7c- 24(content be damned…it needs to anchor the night to help new shows)
9/8c- Dollhouse/Prison Break/TSCC??

Tue: 8/7c – House
9/8c – Bones

Wed: 8/7c – American Idol
9/8c – Fringe

Thur: 8/7c – American Idol: Results (screw it…just make it an hour all season)
9/8c – Dollhouse/TSCC/Prison Break??

So by chosing 2 out of 3 shows with no certain destination(Dollhouse/TSCC/PB) it still leaves one out in the cold to be sent to Friday nights. My guess is that knowing the struggles PB and TSCC have had this season they probably aren’t gonna try an uphill battle pushing them to succeed. Dollhouse could totally flop but give it a chance to catch a few post Idol eyes and see what happens. This never really worked for any of the failed comedies that were lead outs from AI, but both Bones and House have benefited from it so perhaps an hour long is a better bet.

Rachel, I think FOX is going to continue to feed the IDOL on Thursday Rumor through out the November Sweeps. I figure November Sweeps will shape it all up for them (and all the other networks as well).

Nick: Good point. I was just clinging to the possiblity that Idol could carry a good amount of viewers over, but that is a lot of stiff competition for that hour. I suppose Friday after Bones would be best. I’m just afraid the viewership could go even further down on a Friday night than where it’s at now.

Any idea when the schedule will be finalized? Sorry for all the questions. I’m just anxious, hehe. I appreciate your answers though.

DOLLHOUSE will be ready in January. Yes, they made some script rewrites. However the show is still on schedule for January. The show will be teamed up with 24 on Mondays. That is certain.

So with Mondays being Dollhouse/24 and Tuesdays being IDOL/HOUSE, Wednesday is a new comedy/American Idol/FRINGE. HOUSE and FRINGE might switch nights, but they are set to be the IDOL shows.

That means Thursday and Friday are the only choices for Terminator and Bones. Perhaps FOX is seriously considering the Thursday move as rumored.

IF so: Tuesday would be House/Fringe (staying the same), and Wednesday would be Bones/Idol, and Thursday would be new comdey/idol/Terminator?

If I was producing Terminator I’d want a Friday night following Bones vs Thursday Night….

Another series low for a new episode of CSI Miami- 12.67. If this ship continues it Titanic voyage, I suspect there’ll be some stars abandoning ship next summer. Its ratings have been steadily declining since the 2nd episode, but the 12.8 for 2 1/2 Men is a shocker! Either all those sex jokes are starting to get a little stale or the SNL presidential bash was really, really good.

As a fan of TSCC, I’m starting to hate Sarah more and more each episode. Her abrasive overprotective personality could be off-putting to viewers and detract them from watching. The writers should tone it down a bit.

The way things are going you are right. If NBC is canning producers and writers it obviously doesn’t hold as much value in the show as we thought they did. The show can be fixed but not without a complete reboot and mass exodus of characters. Kill half the originals….keep the other half…..stop adding characters. No more using time travel and absorbtion of powers to get yourself out of the corner you’ve managed to back yourself into.* Make us care about the “heroes” again and stop the flip flopping of characters from good to bad or vice versa. Stop using a death of a character to end an episode for a cliff hanger only to bring them back to life somehow about 30 seconds into the following episode. I know its sci fi but if we keep seeing people who are supposed to be dead end up not being so there really is no concern or suspense by the viewer whenever anyone gets into a precarious situation.

I wouldn’t say Heroes has jumped the shark because that usually is a gigantic series changing moment that is completely out of whack from everything the show did before that. I can’t think of a specific moment that Heroes has done this, so to me its not really a show that has jumped the shark as much as it is one that has started its downhill slide in creativity and quality.

It can be fixed. Look at Lost. Most people thought that the show had gone downhill somewhere between the middle of season 2 through the end of season 3 only to come back in Season 4 with what most people rank almost as high as season 1.

How many times has FOX planned on moving Bones to Friday only to not end up doing it for first run episodes? Moving a solid performing show to a poor viewership night is a horrible move, especially for FOX who pretty much invented the term “Friday night death slot”. FOX got greedy with the O.C. hype and thought it could translate into good ratings on a night where they got trounced by the big 3. Judging by how a show that was one of the biggest buzz shows in over a decade ended up going down hill so fast that it didn’t even run for a full 22 episode season after the move…this is not a good strategy.

Bones probably skews much older than The O.C. did but its gonna really take a huge chunk of weekly viewers from FOX if it moves to Friday. Its one of the few things that work on FOX’s fall schedule for the past view seasons so why mess with it?

Too little, too late my friend. It’s very hard to get your audience back once you’ve jumped the proverbial shark, which “Heroes” essentially did after the first season. Season 2 was at least watchable, but season 3 has been a disaster. I’m not saying they can’t fix the show, but they’re not going to get their viewers back. “Heroes” will be on in 2009-10, but it won’t see a season 5. Disagree if you want. It’s only my opinion.

I don’t know if a show like Heroes which started out with a big audience then took a big drop can be dragged up again. Shows that start out small often grow to be massive hits but not too many can be saved once they loose viewers. I can’t think of any myself but I might be wrong though.

My prediction for next week is that Heroes will fall into the 7-8 million range. Stick a fork in Heroes, it’s just about done! I know many of you think the demo will save it, but if you look at the $4 million per episode cost of that show, it may not be enough.”

I don’t think so JT. Kring’s new orders from NBC/Universal is to focus the show back on simpler stories and character development. That means less special effects and more plot, which will make the price per episode cheaper.

This was the formula in season 1, and it worked very well.

I heard DOLLHOUSE is being re-tooled – I don’t see them ready by January and having at least 6 episodes in the can…SARAH has been renewed probably because of the DOLLHOUSE delays – but if they are moving SARAH to FRIDAYS – then that’s like sending it to it’s grave – remember DARK ANGEL ??

- and BONES ON FRIDAYS TOO?
BONES though not strong has won some of their Wed nites – FOX really promoted that – I remember the 2 and half minute music video they played ALL SUMMER LONG -I remeber because it got annoying…every 20 minutes!!! I don’t see them throwing that away and moving BONES a third time?!!

Ah, that’s right. I remember those rumors and will rejoice if they turn to be true (my two favorite shows airing back to back… hah, would be a pretty good night of TV in my books). I think it’d be a good move since most likely the reason the full season of TSCC was picked up was to promote the movie coming out in May, so pairing it with a ratings jaggernaut would make sense to help with that promotion.

PB is still doing solid. But Worst Week is still going down. But, the strange thing is, 2.5 men was down too. But Mother was up. It was probaly snl that brought the ratings down.
