Featuring a state-of-the-art Election Center complex specially created for this year’s historic presidential contest, Univision offered its viewers unparalleled coverage from its award-winning news team and a variety of guest experts. Led by the most respected news anchors in Spanish-language television, Jorge Ramos and María Elena Salinas, the network provided seven straight hours of LIVE coverage during which Univision’s election news team reported live from both presidential campaign headquarters and from across the country.

Coverage of the Presidential Election generated tremendous user participation and integrated Univision.com (keyword: Elecciones) and Univision Móvil more than ever before. For the first time ever, Univision's broadcast included an Interactive Corner which featured live video chats with Hispanics in the US and abroad. During the seven-hour telecast, Hispanics sent thousands of online and SMS messages to the Interactive Corner, commenting on the race, the candidates and key political topics that impact their community. In addition, online forums generated over 100,000 messages about the Election.

“Tuesday night’s historic election coverage was a true testament to Univision’s commitment to offering its viewers the highest degree of journalistic excellence,” said Joe Uva, chief executive officer, Univision Communications Inc. “On such an important night, during which Hispanics once again played a pivotal role in our nation’s history, we are extremely proud they overwhelmingly chose us as their most trusted source of expert analysis and in-depth coverage of the news and issues that will so directly impact their daily lives.”
